The world is beautiful, but the negligence done by massive selfish corporations are turning it into a dumpster fire. No seriously, Vancouver now has the worst air quality in the world because of the smoke that’s blown up from the Oregon/California fires. It’s all scary and overwhelming to think about, right? So where can we start? Can an individual really make a difference?
I myself am definitely not the most environmentally friendly and sustainable person on the planet, but everyday I’m trying harder to become that and improve my habits. It’s critical to not shame yourself, but rather to listen to people around us who are more knowledgeable on these topics (topics like climate change, for example), and then try to integrate that advice into our own lives. But on a larger scale - USE YOUR VOICE 🗣 Tell your bosses why it’s so important to have better recycling programs, composting, food donations, locally and ethically sourced food, etc! Mail your MPs and explain the importance of always taking the earth into consideration. And be loud on social media 🔊 Tweet at all these damn billionaires to donate their money to scientists and climate change activist groups and government’s environment/sustainability budgets! We’re the generation that grew into technology so let’s continue to use it to our advantage.
If you’ve come this far in the caption - thank you. Saving the planet is a journey that we’re all on together, because I know we don’t want any of our kids or grandkids to be born into a world that’s more screwed up than ours currently is. Our kids deserve to see endangered species before mankind makes them extinct, our kids deserve to see the Amazon Rainforest before it’s all clear cut, our kids deserve to see the Great Barrier Reef before it’s destroyed by mass amounts of garbage being dumped into our oceans. Our kids deserve to live on a better planet, and so do we, so let’s keep fighting for it before it’s all gone✌🏼🌍
