We've wrapped up another incredible day of action in our "Reducing Waste While Building Communities" project, and the results are astounding! 👏
With the dedication of over 30 passionate volunteers, we collected about 210 kg of plastic waste from our community. That's equivalent to approximately 21,000 plastic water bottle weights, a remarkable achievement by our dedicated volunteers in the "Reducing Waste While Building Communities" project! ♻️💧🌟
Every piece of plastic collected brings us closer to a cleaner and greener future. Thank you to our amazing volunteers for their hard work and commitment to making a positive impact. Together, we're turning the tide on plastic pollution! 🙌💚

The sensitization and awareness phase is in full swing in Kaduna. We're excited to engage and create awareness around plastic waste and see the level of knowledge of the locals. More importantly, we've created a cultural shift in mindset on how to discard and recycle waste. So far, we've reached over 500 people from shop owners, traders, etc., around Kaduna town, which is enormous because they usually contribute significant waste.

Yesterday was , and what better way to mark the day than Volunteering and giving back? On Saturday, we kickstarted the “Reducing Waste While Building Communities" project in Kaduna. For the project's first phase, Our aim is to address the prevalent plastic waste issue by raising awareness and creating sensitization about the importance of proper waste management.

With Nigeria contributing about 2.5 million tonnes of plastic waste yearly, it is common to see low-density polyethylene (LDPE) sachets (popularly known as Pure water sachet), other plastic bottles among others on the streets and blocking drainages.

We decided to take this awareness to the streets of Kaduna town to engage traders, shop and market owners among others to gauge their understanding of the menace that is plastic and how we can curb it. Take a glimpse of the first of it as we take you on this journey as we work towards a greener future for our community.
