POLICE ARREST THREE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS IN DELTA, rescue victims

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspected kidnappers and rescued a kidnap victim in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

The Command’s spokesman, Bright Edafe, confirmed this development in a statement he issued on Wednesday.

Edafe said: “On 18/9/2022, about 1130hrs, acting on a tip-off, detectives attached to Agbarho Division arrested one Felix Itoje ‘m’ age 32yrs of the mechanic village, Warri-Sapele Road.

“During the investigation, the suspect confessed to the kidnap of one woman (name withheld) on 13/9/2022.

Putin deploys more troops for Ukraine war, threatens nuclear retaliation

Vladimir Putin, Russia’s president, has ordered troop mobilisation for Ukraine, warning that Russia will strike back with full force should the West continue its “nuclear blackmail”.

Putin delivered the warning in a broadcast to the nation on Wednesday morning, and announced the calling up of 300,000 extra reservists.

He said senior government figures in some leading NATO nations have discussed the possibility of using nuclear weapons against Russia.

“If the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, we will without doubt use all available means to protect Russia and our people – this is not a bluff,” he said.
