Profiles of Nature Exposure and Outdoor Activities Associated With Occupational Well-Being Among Employees

Those who spend more time at outdoors, belonging to the high exposure (of nature environments) profile reported lower cynicism and inadequacy than did the participants in the low exposure profile. In fact, the participants in the high exposure profile reported on average the lowest burnout in all dimensions of burnout and in conjunction with the highest work engagement.

Insomnia is a very common sleep disorder and is defined as the difficulty in initiating sleep or maintaining sleep, sleep difficulty at least 3 nights a week, or sleep difficulty that causes impairment of daytime functioning.

In this double-blind, randomized, prospective, placebo-controlled, two parallel arms clinical trial conducted on 60 patients suffering from insomnia, there was statistically significant difference measured in sleep efficiency, total sleep time, time in bed, and ISI score in favor of homeopathy over placebo with moderate to large effect sizes.

Finns are one of happiest people in earth, would this be one of reasons!
Nature!

Exercise and being outdoors during free-time was evaluated as the most effective activity for recovery from work stress, and the time spent in interacting with nature was mentioned as second in importance.

Time spent in exercise and being outdoors, life satisfaction, and relaxation mediated significantly the relationship between time spent in interacting with nature and need for recovery from work.

In our cross-sectional study, time spent in exercise and being outdoors, relaxation, and life satisfaction significantly mediated the effect of time spent in interacting with nature (as an off-job free-time activity) on need for recovery from work demands.

Small Garden, Big Impact: Emotional and Behavioral Responses of Visitors to a Rooftop Atrium in a Major Hospital

Findings of this study suggest visitors' experience with the healing garden can lead to overall satisfaction with the hospital and behavioral intentions toward the hospital. Visitors' satisfaction with the healing garden significantly predicted their satisfaction with the hospital, their intend to revisit the hospital, and their intend to recommend it.

study demonstrates that a small healing garden can be a powerful enough space to impact visitors' overall satisfaction with the hospital and their intentions regarding their future behavior toward the hospital, such as revisiting or recommending the hospital.

Different homeopathic remedies did present different patterns of potency-dependent effect on macrophage activity.

Bacterial digestion and a balanced IL-6/IL-10 production were related to Sil 6cH, though reduced oxidative stress with increased lysosomal activity was related to Sil 200cH. Degenerative effects were exclusively related to Sil 30cH, and potency-dependent phagocytosis was related only to Zinc.

Low-level laser therapy in temporomandibular joint disorders: a systematic review

Systematic review highlights the role of LLLT as a promising therapeutic regimen for TMDs

This systematic review aimed to re-validate the efficiency of LLLT in TMDs by thoroughly evaluating the previously conducted researches and further compare with placebo and other interventions.

The study outcomes are expected to provide useful guidelines for practitioners treating patients with TMDs. The results demonstrate that LLLT appears to be efficient in diminishing TMD pain with variable effects on the outcome of secondary parameters.

Also, LLLT provides advantages as the therapeutic regimen is non-invasive, reversible, with fewer adverse effects, and may also improve the psychological and emotional aspects associated with TMDs. Therefore, this systematic review highlights the role of LLLT as a promising therapeutic regimen for TMDs.

Acupuncture has a beneficial effect on pain in all body areas in FM patients it also shown significant effectiveness in improving fatigue and sleep quality

To date, there is considerable evidence of the effectiveness of acupuncture in fibromyalgia syndrome (FM).

However, it is not known in which body areas acupuncture is more effective. The objective of this study was to assess the improvements of pain induced by acupuncture in single body areas in patients with FM. In this open-label pragmatic study, FM patients in a state of high disease severity were consecutively enrolled and treated with a course of 8 weekly sessions of manual acupuncture.

Patients were assessed with the Self-Administered Pain Scale (SAPS) of the Fibromyalgia Assessment Status at baseline and at the end of eight acupuncture sessions. Acupuncture sessions were all conducted with the same acupuncture formula (LV3, SP6, ST36, LI4, CV6, CV12, Ex-HN-3, and GV20) in each session and in each patient.

Ninety-six FM patients completed the course of treatment. All the 16 body areas assessed by SAPS showed improvement in pain. A statistically significant improvement was achieved in 12 of the 16 body areas investigated, with the best results in abdomen and forearms (p = 0.001), while the worst results were registered for neck (p = 0.058), chest (p = 0.059), left buttock (p = 0.065), and right thigh (p = 0.052).

The treatment has also shown significant effectiveness in improving fatigue and sleep quality (p < 0.0001). Acupuncture has a beneficial effect on pain in all body areas in FM patients with high disease severity, with the greatest effects in the abdominal region and in the forearms, allowing a personalization of the treatment.
