In the Representative Republic, or the “democracy,” they call it. When the front-runner resigns, isn't there a primary so the people in that party can choose their next representative? I am struggling to understand who is tossing aside the democratic process.

“We the people,” choose our representatives, not the party elites. They are the representatives we choose.

The VP is usually the “anointed one” once the top of the ticket can no longer run; however, they have to survive the primary of their party—only 15 VPs in history, with only six being elected President. Joe Biden was the last one and had to survive a primary. One before him was George Bush, who was Reagan’s VP, which he had to survive a primary. While the VP generally gets the party nod they don't always get the people’s nod.

Doesn't feel democratic or inclusive to the members of a party.

I bet Kamala will not be nominated. During the primary, she received zero delegates. The Democrats are solely worried about maintaining power, not the American people. Also, if Biden isn't fit, which we all see, why has he not been removed from office? One word answers “Power” and Dems don't like Kamala - just see Obama’s speech if you need any proof.

I wonder which party really strokes violence, as I woke up again today with no “mostly peaceful protest” with cities burning. Even after an assassination attempt on the republican candidates, the deplorables aren't tearing s**t up.

I really wish folks would open their eyes and stop being useful idiots to those who stroke violence and hate. Be careful in replying to this, just look out and see for yourself.

So, just a prediction, Joe Biden will step down this weekend and will not endorse Kamala Harris.

Some only care about power and power is all they seek. Be careful for voting for the power monsters.

I have a serious question: when Trump was in office, there were mostly peaceful protests that burned cities, politicians bailing out criminals, autonomous zones, and folks' lives were ruined forever for three years. How many cities are burning now? There is a difference in political stance in this country, and if you feel it is Trump or any of his supporters, take a step back and compare times. Open your eye.

As a side note, I don't want either of these two in the office. But I keep asking myself why they are pushing hard to keep this guy out of office.

We need to come together as a country and agree to disagree peacefully because the road we are currently heading down doesn't end well.

And if you somehow think this is an endorsement of Trump, you couldn't be further from the truth. As a vet, I fought for your right to have your own opinions, whether I like them or not. Just don't take the opinions of others, especially media, politicians, or entertainers in any way - be your own person.

Just when I thought we couldn't get any lower, their is an assassination attempt. If you believe this is ok, feel free to remove me from your friends list, because you are the problem - end of story.

I love this country and our freedom, which includes our freedom of choice.

My hearts goes out to the innocence that got caught up in this. As a country we HAVE to do better.

Today is D-day celebrations, and I just watched a 98-year-old vet say he is not a hero, that the guys who died were the heroes, and that he loved America. He said he would fight for it again if needed at 98!

How far have we fallen from the greatest generation? I feel the same way, if needed I would fight again, but how may can say that? Why do so many hate America?

Saw a shirt the other day I love, it said “Support the country you live in, OR live in the country you support”.

I love hearing the term “destroying democracy” because it should be removed from our government as we are a representative republic and they use the term democracy because they can take away your rights. This isn't possible in a representative republic, as the people give the government their rights. They have wordsmithed folks into freely giving their rights away.
