New episode is out!

The final entry in the retrospective is Examination Of Violent Cinema. The packaging is set up to resemble a full on autopsy. There is a Y perforation that you literally have to rip open in the traditional autopsy Y. The sleeve of the record is a cyborg chest cavity and inside of the jacket is printed as well the whole package is body bagged and there is a coroner’s report that lays out the lyrics and credits. Day four of the media review and it’s a big one.

We have the Los Angeles which is a tribute to the movie Heat. For this release there were multiple versions of the cover and Justin and his dad took them into the desert and shot them as a nod to the films massive gun fight scene.

Second up is their final release End Credits. This is another die cut sleeve and it’s meant to look like a burned script. The fellas knew this was going to be the last one so they chose apocalypse films for the source material.

Last and nowhere near least, BEHOLD THE DOOMBOX! This fu***ng thing folds out into a life size replica of an old 80s style boom box. Vinyl copy of DTY is in the picture for scale. ITS THAT BIG! Today’s focus in the Gorlock retrospective is Crimetraveller and it’s preview EP entitled Trailer. The EPs insert opens up to reveal a script for a movie that doesn’t exist and contains two songs from the Crimetraveller full length. Crime Traveller is the said non existent movie. The bands MO up to this point was taking existing movie samples and dialogue and reworking them into socio-political commentaries. This time they upped the game and wrote their own movie then made their own dialogue samples for this release. This is also the bow that ties the whole destination trilogy together. The packaging for this is A FULL ON GAHDAMN NEWSPAPER that tells the whole story of the time travelling assassin story. Today’s focus in our week long GRAFSTRAVAGANZA *Justin is going to have me gakked for that one* is Destination Time Tomorrow by . As you can see the CD case is a xenomorph facehugger wrapped around the CD, with the back of a head on the cd. The liner notes and lyrics are on a cardboard insert meant to look like a lab tray or dish. The vinyl version is even more insane but I don’t have a copy of it. Justin and I do discuss it tho on Friday’s episode so if you want more you’ll have to listen! If yer looking to get yer own Gorlock merch is holding a bit of a fire sale on what’s left so get on it!

Yo! In honor of my interview with Justin Smith of and lead psycho of releasing this Friday I thought I’d share my collection of Gorlock physical media! In addition to killer fu***ng tunes, every Gorlock release had absolutely bonkers packaging. Today’s spotlight is the Destination Time Yesterday CD and vinyl release. The vinyl was a die cut briefcase and the sleeve had the contents of said briefcase. The CD is little more straightforward but every page had different my items in the case. Why is the briefcase important? What the f**k am I on about? Find out Friday when the interview drops on Spotify and Apple podcasts and a few other services. Am I not on your service of choice? So I just finished Mass by and it’s a companion piece to the album released by her band . It’s a pretty overwhelming read but that’s in line for the story she tells. I just got done gushing about the album for the year end episode (releasing Friday) and I’ll dive a little deeper into the book for January’s media round up episode. If you ain’t hip to either this book or this album FIX IT!

The final episode of the season is upon us! We close out the discography, offer final thoughts and s**t on Five Finger Death Punch! It’s a great time. Also Larry’s podcast is back up. Just a handful of episodes right now so get caught up before he buries you in content! This is the last season of the year for the show but I have at least two episodes planned out before 2023 hauls itself out of here so stay tuned for that.

My apologies for taking so long between seasons. It’s been a wild summer for everyone involved.

The good news is I have some surprises planned after this Prong season rolls out. I will share those with you all as they get closer to happening.

I’ve also picked at least ONE band for next year but again I’ll be saving that for further down the line.

Sorry for all the teasing and vagueness but I just wanted to let you all know that yes the show is still a thing and yer gonna start hearing new episodes sooner rather than later. PEACE!
