Senior IPS officer Jitender Set to Become Telangana's New DGP

Senior IPS officer Jitender is expected to be appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) for Telangana.

Sources said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made the decision, with official orders anticipated to be issued on Wednesday.

Upon issuance of these orders, Jitender will become the first DGP appointed by the government since the Congress party came to power in Telangana.
Currently, Jitender serves as the Principal Secretary of the Home Department and also holds the position of Director of Vigilance and Enforcement, managing additional responsibilities.

Journey from ASP to DGP

Born into a farming family in Jalandhar, Punjab, Jitender is a 1992 batch IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre. His career began as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Nirmal. He then served as Additional SP in Bellampally and held significant roles as the SP of Mahbubnagar and Guntur districts during times of high Naxalite activity.
Jitender's extensive experience includes working with the Delhi CBI and the Greyhounds from 2004 to 2006. He was later promoted to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and took on responsibilities in Visakhapatnam.

Upcoming Transfers

Alongside Jitender's anticipated appointment, several other IPS officers are expected to be transferred, as part of the administrative changes.

Ranjith Kumar Goud, PS Rein Bazar along with Police personnel’s have conducted Special Drive on Narcotic Drugs and Substances Cordon in the limits of Rein Bazar Police station at Surrounding areas of Yakuthpura Railway Station on 25-10-2021.

In this Special Drive seized (102) Two Wheelers
(Without valid Documents) and apprehended (10) Rowdy Sheeters.

They all are counseled not to involve in any offences and advised them to maintain good behaviors.

Today ie., on 23.10.2021, Hyderabad SHE Teams celebrated its 7th Anniversary.As part of this, CP Hyderabad inaugurated "SAAT - SAATH Ab Aur Bhi Pas" in presence of Addl.CP(Crimes&SIT) , a new citizen outreach initiative, to come closer to the
community by setting up an extension center of SHE Teams, exclusively on every Wednesday at WPS South Zone, Ghansi Bazaar.
On other days, Citizens can continue availing the facility of SHE Teams at HACA Bhavan, Nampally as before.; SHE Teams were launched on 24th October 2014 in Hyderabad City. These teams
were formed keeping in view the Telangana Govt& #39;s vision for a safe and secure
environment for women.
With the successful impact created by SHE Teams, the concept is replicated not
only to the entire Telangana state but also many other states like Kerala,
Maharashtra, Madhyapradesh to name a few.
Speaking on the occasion, Addl.CP Crimes Crimes&SIT, I/C SHE Teams & Bharosa,
stated that the trust of the citizens on SHE Teams itself is the motivation to work
more, resulting in resounding success of SHE Teams.
She further appealed to the citizens to approach SHE Teams, without any fear and
that their identity will be kept confidential.
CP Hyderabad conveyed his best wishes to all the staff of SHE Teams for their
teamwork and successful contribution to the Hyderabad City in making it a Safest
City.
He applauded the SHE Teams, first of its kind initiative of Hyderabad City Police as
it addressed more than 8000 victims and their families, wherein 687 FIRs
registered, 723 Pettycases filed and 942 Redhanded cases booked.
He attributed this to the courageous women who came forward to report the
crime.
The event was attended by Jt.CP EastZone(I/C DCP Southzone), Addl.DCP SHE
Teams & Bharosa, Addl.DCP South Zone among other officers.
