I was absolutely in awe of David Dawdy and his insight on what trauma brings to leadership. I’m so excited to share our interview with you.
David has a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology and has worked in multiple fields of behavioral health treatment for the last 25 years.
During this time, he’s worked with individuals that have suffered in areas from addiction to mental health issues. He’s now taken this insight and teaches us how being “trauma-informed” can bring employees and leaders to the next level.

More than once in my life, including the past year, I've felt "out of balance". Here's what I've learned and what generating a balanced life looks like.
What do you think? Is it possible to live in balance?

Ep.5 - A couple of times in my life I've experienced paralyzing fear. Like, can't move - frozen. Fear has a useful purpose, and shouldn't be avoided. But we also don't want to hang out in a state of fear for long. In Episode 5 of the Leadership School, I open up about some of my own fears, what fear is used for, and how to move through it. ⠀
⠀
I'd love to hear from you! What Leadership topics do you want to hear about in a future episode?⠀

Ep.4 - I used to apologize all.the.time. So much that one of my colleagues sent me an email once titled, "sorries" and compassionately asked me to stop apologizing! He reminded me that mistakes happen when learning something new, and it's just the way of learning. ⠀
⠀
I took it to heart and I don't apologize for every teeny misstep anymore. I have a much broader view of failure now and enjoy using it as opportunity to grow. I heard M. Night Shyamalan say in an interview that he didn't even like using the world failure, he preferred to use "iterate", meaning that success comes through perseverance. ⠀
⠀
Yet failures do still happen. There are still times when an apology is necessary and important. And since mistakes are inevitable, let's find a way to deal with them. Learn more by listening to today's episode of Leadership School.
