It’s a must visit place for nature lovers. You get to feel how lovely, dangerous and at the same time how beautiful Mother Nature is.

Officially the republic of Costa Rica is a country in Central America

The name la Costa Rica means rich coast in Spanish.

It’s a tropical 🌴 country with one of best views to volcanoes 🌋

Most of them do speak English at resorts and hotels(manageable). But when one wants to enjoy and see how locals live there and to survive the trip one must learn Spanish (Atleast basic).

Backyard turned to grocery store.

Growing tomatoes 🍅second year in a row.

Remember : while Growing fruits and veggies - Crop rotation is very important.

Tomatoes feed on nitrogen and phosphorus with many other nutrients in soil. So they are mostly nitrogen and phosphorus hungry and water regularly through out the growing season.

Once Tomatoes are harvested and plant starts to die. Remove the tomato plant and plant any legumes.

Example: plants that can be planted after removal of tomatoes plants from soil are

Peas
Beans
Peanut
Clover
Dill
Coriander
Beetroot
Carrot 🥕

What not to plant after tomatoes

Eggplant
Potatoes
Peppers

Companion plants for tomatoes
(most beneficial - always plant companion plants along)
(best results for pest control)

Basil
Parsley
Marigold
Garlic
Chives

It's wonderful to see how plants try and communicate and even then we sometimes don't understand their needs and kill them.

Don't be hard on yourself

But as a newbie we are still figuring out things like water, soil,, fertilizer and sun requirements for each plant.

With day to day task sometimes one might forget to care for plants 🪴

One major thing that one has to do regularly for maintaining a lively plant is watering

To make life easy and better

Find a way which you love.(could be reusing junks at home or buying tools and equipment )

Here, I have reused old plastic water bottles to water my 🪴plant.

Some might agree or disagree with what your doing. But at the end it's just you and what you need and feel. So be happy, experiment, learn and keep growing.

My Christmas is gonna be planting these seeds.

I know its the time to bake, get together and enjoy.

But with COVID-19 invading 2020 and making its way to next level. I humbly request everyone to stay home and stay safe.

Let's not create a disaster for ourselves and our loved ones.

Its been long since COVID started and many people are vexed and want to go out on vacations, partying, atleast meet friends and family 👪.

But remember your putting everyone into danger by doing so 🤷.

So be 🤏 responsible
Stop spreading COVID and TRY spreading few seeds which atleast will give you some flowers, fruits and vegetables🤗 😋.

Here are few options to look into if you're planning to buy some plants for Christmas 🎁.

These are low maintenance plants. Which will survive harsh conditions 🤗(infrequent watering, less light,etc.,)

Green is a color that is great for your eyes as well as your mental health(represents compassion, tranquility, growth, luck, abundance, nature). So why not go with trend and be all natural 💚.

If you're still thinking 🤔 about buying a plant. Come on, step up. Give it a try. Start with low maintenance plant.

Light is a very important factor to consider when growing indoor plants.

Before choosing your plants learn about their light requirements.

Considering Snake plants - they do well when given indirect bright sunlight. But also strive 💪 in low light area. Its one tough plant that survives many odds.

Remember to give all plants a good sunlight atleast once a week.

No matter what sun is their source for food.

Every plant parent knows the struggle of keeping a plant lively and healthy.

One of the struggle is to water the plants regularly and also only as much as they need.

Now, How do you know that how much water each plant requires?

Well, just use your God given tool (fingers - cheap and best tool to figure out plant water requirements).

Method - every week just spend a minute looking at your plant needs.

Sometimes you might see dry soil on top(don't get fooled by the looks) stick your fingers inside the soil to check if first 1 inch is dry.

If its dry then water if not wait for few more days.

Only thing that might kill snake plants is over watering. Which causes roots to rot and plant eventually dies.

Different plant has different water requirements. Study about your plants before buying them.

New plant parents - If you are planning on buying some plants try snake plants 😉 to start with. I am sure you will not be disappointed 🙂.

Snake plants grow in well draining potting soil.

Grows well indoors at room temperature.

They are very hard to kill as they survive low light, infrequent watering.

Fertilize during its growing season (summer and spring). Winter is a season where most of the plants go dormant(leave them to rest and don't fertilize during dormant season)

It also has many benefits along with maintaining indoor air quality. Its said that snake plants have strong energy that protects the residents from negative chi.

People struggling with stress should give a try to growing plants and see how its magic works.

New Avatar of my old pan.

GARDENING has changed the way I think.

Growing micro greens(fenugreek seeds).

Take any container that you want but make sure to the drill holes under or lay some pebbles/stones inside the container.

Fill in with soil and sprinkle some seeds of your choice(fenugreek, green gram, mustard, chia, flax).

On top of those seeds just spread some more soil.(just a bit to cover the seed).

Water as usual.(spray for tiny plants/pots with no drainage)

Wait for magic to happen 🌱(couple of days).

See the sprouting? Happy 😊 enjoy growingmicrogreens.
