"Every adventure requires a first step" 🐰 & this Alice in Wonderland themed cafe = the perfect place to celebrate the news of our next big adventure...

🎉WE OFFICIALLY KNOW WHERE WE'RE MOVING🎉

Finally having official orders was like stepping into a puddle of relief. These past few weeks have been filled with stress packing, frantic emailing & trying our best to prep for whatever destination was thrown our way.

Kenny planned an adorable date day to surprise Jasper & I with the big news 🍓🫐🌼

🍓 Towering fruits, flowers and pancakes cover this sweet cafe
🍓 Take a seat in the queen's gardens or at the mad hatter's tea party
🍓 Delight in a menu filled with enormous, fluffy pancakes - I opted for cinnamon roll pancakes & Kenny opted for ham + cheese
🍓 Bring your pup - It's a dog friendly cafe!

If you love Alice in Wonderland & are looking for a dog-friendly cafe in Vilnius, Lithuania 🇱🇹 Gusto Blynine is the place to be!

Be sure to follow so you don't miss our adventures around the Baltics!

Now the big question.... where are we moving?!🤔

After discussing today, we have decided that the safest choice = announcing our new home once we have moved.✈️ We love being open books with everyone, but this helps us avoid people trying to find the airport we are departing from, our exact flight, etc.

I know that's a bummer to hear, but safety first...

Though some of you are going to be REAL excited for this news 😉

If you haven't added Normandy to your bucket list yet, I'm here to tell you - you're missing out!

When we first moved abroad, this region of France wasn't on our 'must do' list. Why?🤔 No reason other than we didn't know much about the area before researching.🤷‍♀️

Let me tell you - Normandy has SO much to offer in terms of adventure, nature, local cuisine & (of course) history.

While working on our '4 day weekend guide to Normandy' 🇫🇷 I've received countless dms asking "Where should we stay?" "What's a good central location?" "Would you recommend your hotel?"

If you're looking for a place to stay, I can 1000% recommend Le Clos du Bas Courtil - B&B Normandy- 🥂

✅ Less than 30 mins from many prominent monuments & museums, such as Omaha Beach or the city of Bayeux
✅ They're accommodating to various family sizes - I know for many of our followers with 5+ travelers, this can often be the biggest hurdle to figure out with hotels. Give them a call - they've accommodated some pretty large travel groups. We stayed in the "Laura Family Room" which was very roomy & perfect for 4 people.
✅ The hosts offer a fabulous breakfast with local products - corn bread/baguettes/croissants from the bakery, regional butter (IYKYK about french butter 🤤), market fresh jams, homemade muesli, eggs from their chickens, etc. We felt pampered with each breakfast - Jasper even had his own biscuit plate.
✅ If you like horses, cats, dogs or chickens - this is the place for you. I loved touring the horse stables and meeting their friendly dogs/cats (see sweet Zara & Luna in our pics).
✅ Book a WWII vehicle tour with them - they have various routes based on your preference & the vehicles are on their property
✅ They are locals & have the BEST recommendations for where to eat, what to see, etc. The hosts even helped us figure out what season would suit our visit to avoid bad weather + see the wonderful preparations for June's big celebrations (while avoiding crowds).
✅ The home itself has a history - I don't want to spoil anything for you, but I deff recommend asking the hosts about it!
✅ They're military friendly - Many soldiers even bring patches from their unit to place on the 'visitors map' showcasing their guests from across the globe (Kenny brought two patches & I brought a few stickers from Jasper).

We left this vacation feeling like we had a new extended family & cannot wait to visit them again - because truly it takes far more than 4 days to explore this gorgeous region of France.

So many of our favorite moments from this trip were thanks to their recommendations & I just had to share their B&B with y'all. If you have any questions about our stay, our favorite activities etc - you're welcome to ask!

The Alsace region of France isn't just for Christmas markets - it's beautiful all year round! 🇫🇷

Jasper & I just wrapped up filming a Spring showcase of dog-friendly experiences throughout the region - we can't wait to see it premiere soon!

In the meantime, here are some of our favorite Alsacienne cities & a dog-friendly activity for each one:

♥️ Metz - Shop till you drop at their famous thrift market (one Saturday a month)
♥️ Kintzheim - Tour wine cellars & delight in traditional Alsacienne cuisine
♥️ Strasbourg - hop on the city's dog friendly trams & explore the colorful riverfront buildings
♥️ Obernai - attend the parades & open air performances surrounding Estivales d'Obernai
♥️ Colmar - take a wooden boat ride through the canal
♥️ Riquewihr - stroll the colorful streets that inspired animators of Beauty and the Beast
♥️ Ribeauvillé - enjoy one of the many wine routes or hike the nearby vineyards
♥️ Eguisheim - climb the nearby castle ruins

If you told me that 2024 included "Prague vendor encouraging husband to swat me with a willow stick on the 🍑 at an Easter Market" - I would surely have some questions 😂

While exploring Prague's many Easter Markets, we unexpectedly found ourselves learning about a new (to us) tradition - pomlázka 🐰

Strewn along the markets in varying sizes, we spotted basket upon basket of long branches woven together and topped with colorful tassels.

Given their popularity, we had to ask what these colorfully adorned branches were all about.🤔

"In Czech, this is for luck and fertility," a vendor told us.

Flinging it towards Kenny, he continued "Swat your lady with that on Easter Monday! And you - you give him some colored eggs in return."

After talking with the vendor more, we learned that pomlázka are traditionally made by weaving willow branches together and topping them with colorful ribbons - a Czech tradition dating back before the 1300s.

Before departing, our new vendor pal offered us a pomlázka of our own... on the condition that Kenny give me a smack on the toosh before we left 😂

What should go on your Prague Easter Market checklist?
✅ Wild garlic and cheese stuffed dumplings
✅ Decorative Easter Eggs - they're made from real egg shells that are drained
✅ Oscypek - a traditional Polish smoked cheese - topped with local jam
✅ Local handicrafts
✅ Trdelnik - aka a chimney cake that can be filled with everything from fruits to ice cream
✅ Your own pomlázka (of course)

Don't fret about bringing a pup, Prague is incredibly dog-friendly!🐾 Plus, most markets are open through April 7th.

Hey. Hi. Hello it's Jasper 🐾 and if you're new here, welcome to the fam ⬇️

As we prep for our upcoming travels, we figured there's no better time than now to do a re-introduction for anyone who's just joining our journey!

We're Kenny, Sam & Jasper - exploring the world and sharing dog-friendly travel along the way is our thing.🌍

Dog-friendly trains, busses, boats and excursions for pups of ✨ALL✨ sizes are our expertise - when you travel the world with a large dog like us, you realize pretty quick that many places labeled "dog-friendly" really AREN'T 🚫 friendly for every size dog.

Not interested in dog travel?🤔 Don't worry, we share other adventures too!

We're major foodies and love hunting down unique experiences - such as gondola wine tastings 🚠 or truffle hunts. You'll often find us at a festival you've never heard of or learning from a local and sharing their stories.

Fun Facts About Us:
💜 Our family has lived on 3 continents (4 for Kenny if you count his deployments) & we currently reside in Germany.
💜 I'm the daughter of 2 immigrants (& you can bet your bottom dollar my Mom never lets me forget that I missed her naturalization ceremony so I would get perfect attendance in elementary school 😂).
💜 Jasper is a medical alert service dog - you can read his story under the 'Jasper's Journey' tab on our blog.
💜 Kenny is an amazing artist, dancer and runner - he's currently training for some interesting challenges this Summer (don't worry we'll update you 😉).
💜 Budgeting is a way of life for us - if we can snag a deal, we will! Full price isn't in our vocab.
💜 We LOVE meeting our followers - so far we've run into followers during our travels in 14/67 countries.

Tell us about YOU! Where are you from? What's your travel story? Do you have pets? Do they travel too?

We're so happy you're here!

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is one of the most famous & picturesque Christmas market towns in Germany 🎁

Falling along the Romantic Road, you truly can't go wrong with a visit here any time of year... but Christmas season? 😍 Talk about Hallmark movie vibes!

🎄 Climb the Rothaus tower for an overhead view of the market - personally, I found the spiral staircase to have the best vantage points vs. the actual top of the tower.
🎄 Visit during the daytime & stay until the evening - the city is FILLED with Medieval architecture, beautiful photo ops, etc that you may be unable to clearly view in the evening. I'd recommend exploring the city in the daytime & enjoying the market during the evening (when all the lights shine bright).
🎄 Be sure to check the STORES before buying a souvenir! We found that many items being sold at the market were also found in the surrounding stores for a better deal. Plus, you can't miss the Käthe Wohlfahrt museum & flagship store - it's a "must see" for Christmas lovers.
🎄 There are a few mug variations - our white mug was found across from the Rothaus, but they also offered black and blue mugs.
🎄 Parking can be a bit of a nightmare for this city during the holiday season - I recommend circling around near ALDI & Lidl. We found free & easy parking at a nearby soccer complex (which also had a free porta-potty), but there were quite a few lots in this area.
🎄 Musical performances are typically held on the Rothaus steps.
🎄 Guided tours leave frequently from the Rothaus (some were free & others 9 Euro PP). No need to pre-book, most tours were walk-ups!

Great news: They're open Friday & Saturday!! 🥳

Have restaurant or activity recommendations for fellow travelers? Feel free to leave them in the comment section! We always love adding your recommendations to our "to do" list.

Esslingen officially holds the title of our favorite Medieval Christmas market in Germany 🇩🇪

Typically, when Christmas Markets say they have a Medieval area - it's just that, a small section with a ✨handful✨ of stalls. As someone who favors Medieval markets, it can be a real bummer to drive HOURS for a recommendation only to find... well... a letdown.😬

Esslingen was NOT a disappointment & checked ALL our Medieval boxes 🤺

⚔ Interactive vendors where you can assist in blowing your own glass ornament, dip colorful wax candles or even smelt a lucky horseshoe! Each activity was kid-friendly too.
⚔️ Medieval rides for kids! From old school ferris wheels to spinning towers, there were lots of fun options - they even let us squeeze on the rides we could fit.
⚔️ Medieval GAMES - launch mini trebuchet, take your bow + arrow dragon hunting, launch axes, etc. There were so many fun games we've never seen or played before & it was SO much fun experiencing them for the first time. Most games are kids-oriented, but they definitely welcome those of us who are kids at heart (y'all know us - we had to try it all 😂).
⚔️ Delicious food! We ordered SO much food - if you see something you've never tried before, give it a go. It's hard to go wrong there.
⚔️ Their mugs are EVERYTHING. If you're after the coveted clay mugs or maybe teal, pink or PURPLE mugs - this is the place! The Kerbhof mug comes in a variety of colors (found in the kids medieval market) & the main medieval market has a nice slate grey mug (which I'm obsessed with). We saw at least 3 more mug options too!
⚔️ Performers & live music throughout the day!

There's only a little bit longer to enjoy this market as it closes after the 21st🏃‍♀️ Make a day of your visit & pair it with a stop at Stuttgart's market too.

Thermal baths & fondue dinner? 🙋‍♀️ Baden-Baden Weihnachtsmarkt is the way to go!

With all this 🥶 weather, we had to stop by Baden-Baden for a warm mug of Feuerzangenbowle & a dip in the bath house.🧖‍♀️

🎄 Quaint market spread across the Kurhaus lawn.
🎄 Stunning bath house in the city center (highly recommend if you're comfortable with textile-free spas).
🎄 Ornament igloos that you can reserve a private fondue dinner in (the inside is heated & decorated lovely).
🎄 Easy parking at the Casino or you can park ontop of the hill overlooking the city for FREE (that's what we did & it was

The Black Forest region of Germany is somewhere I find myself drawn to time and time again 🎄

Last year, our Winter plans ground to a screeching halt when our 🚗 was totaled the evening before our trip to the Black Forest - which means this year we're playing catch up & visiting every market that was on our 'to do' list for the region.🎅

Freiburg's Christmas market did not disappoint!

🎁 Adorable themed mugs - our favorite was the Bollenhut mug 🍒 which features a holiday spin on the famous pom pom hats traditionally worn in the Black Forest region.
🎁 Delicious food - we enjoyed trying the nougat & locally cured meats.
🎁 The markets are a manageable size & despite countless tour busses stopping here, the crowds were not overbearing.
🎁 Photo ops were plentiful! If you want to see the city glittering in lights, head over during the evening.
🎁 Parking was a breeze - "Parkhaus Karlsbau" was cheap & easy to enter for tall + wide vehicles (our SUV requires a 2m clearance due to our Tent box).
🎁 Dogs are welcome! Jasper recommends a pit stop inside the local Starbucks to warm up (plus they have free toilets for customers).
🎁 Extra Bonus: We got to experience its beauty in the SNOW! Truly magical.

If you're planning a trip to Ravenna Gorge, this was less than a 30-minute drive from the market for us!

I still have lots to catch y'all up on while I make my way to the UK - what markets do you want to hear about 1st?🤔 Switzerland, France, Belgium, Austria or Germany?

Fondue in a horse-drawn carriage through Switzerland's Christmas Markets?🧀 SIGN US UP!

When in the land of cheese, you have to indulge in a decadent fondue dinner at least once - so why not make an experience of it?

✨ The evening starts off with an instructional introduction in French where you DIY your own fondue - don't worry though, everything is pre-measured so it's pretty hard to mess up. Just watch what your instructor does & you'll be good to go!
✨ Each booking has their own pot of fondue - so no worries about sword fighting strangers over cheese.
✨ The cart is fully enclosed, which means it takes off regardless of rain or snow.
✨ We had no issue bringing Jasper, but this is completely up to whether or not ALL your fellow cart mates are comfortable with a dog joining the party.
✨ The experience lasts ~1.5 hours and strolls past all the major markets in the city. It can get bumpy at times so prepare for lots of laughs with your fellow passengers!
✨ Feel free to bring your own drinks, but tea is included.

This is hands down one of the funnest Christmas Market experiences we've EVER had!

Did I mention they also have a shorter Aperitif carriage ride for those on a time crunch?🥂

Where was our FIRST Christmas market?🤔

Wiesbaden, of course!🎉

While the bigger Christmas markets in Munich, Berlin & Cologne get a lot of hype, I feel like Wiesbaden's Christmas market is SEVERELY underrated.

Not only does it have great vendors & food, but it also has a lot of unique features that make it stand out from other markets around Europe.

⭐️ Light Displays
⭐️ Giant Poinsetta Tree
⭐️ Holiday Performances
⭐️ Unique Dining Experiences
⭐️ A Mini Children's Market
⭐️ Ice Skating

Did I mention that Wiesbaden will have the LARGEST mobile ice rink in Germany for the 2023 market? 👀

and guess what else... it's SNOWING here 😍 Talk about a Winter Wonderland aesthetic!

In 2019, this was our first-ever Christmas market & boy did we have lotssss of questions. We made mistakes. Definitely had some embarrassing moments.🙈 The memories, however... priceless!

Having been to dozens of markets now, we're pretty Christmas market savvy.😎 That means I'm here to take the stress out of your visit and give you the ultimate guide to Wiesbaden's market.

We struggled so y'all don't have to.😂

Geneva's market has the widest range of international food selections that we've seen 🤤

Given this city is the home base for both United Nation's 🇺🇳 European seat & Red Cross International - It makes perfect sense that Geneva would host a wonderfully diverse market to represent cuisines from around the world.🌎

As you can guess, this foodie fam = Big fans.

Geneva Christmas Market Tips:
🎄 Bring your card! While most markets in Europe are 💸 only, almost all of Geneva's vendors accept card (some even told us they don't accept 💸 at all).
🎄 Toilets are plentiful & FREE! I know, completely unheard of for most European markets.
🎄 Bring your tastebuds - there is cuisine from around the world! Top Chef Middle East's winner for 2022 & 2023 even has his Ramen stall at this market. We loved talking with vendors from Ghana, South Korea, France etc as we taste tested their offerings.
🎄 Brush up on your French! If you've visited more Northern areas of Switzerland, you may expect locals to speak German - this area of Switzerland, however, is primarily French-speaking. A simple 'Bonjour' goes a long way!
🎄 Dogs are welcome! This market isn't very hectic and is a manageable size - we easily navigated with Jasper. The Raclette stall even made Jasper his own MINI version of our Raclette-filled baguette 🥹 (obviously he gives them a 15/10).
🎄 Take a boat across the lake RIGHT from the market! We weren't sure if this would be open during Winter, but we easily hopped on 3 boats throughout the day & had no issues bringing Jasper.
🎄 Parking was easy, but you can also take most buses, trains or boats with your dog!

Our Switzerland vlogs will be coming out next week - stay tuned 🥳

I hope everyone has a safe & relaxing holiday weekend!

Rüdesheim's Christmas market is offically open as of TODAY 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

If you want a small + local vibe without the hustle & bustle of a big city, THIS is the market to enjoy!

🎄As a famous wine city along the Rhine River, it is only fitting that there are ample Glühwein vendors here. Look further than just the market stalls as many restaurants have converted their patios to holiday hangouts. I personally love going to these as they are often hidden down alleyways or behind unassuming walls.
🎄Speaking of Glühwein, the city's signature mug is an adorable YELLOW color this year (but you can also find our beloved 'Paris blue' too).
🎄Our hands-down favorite market meal in Rüdesheim every year is a gigantic bread bowl filled to the brim with steaming goulash!
🎄We always recommend trying the city's famous drink - Rüdesheimer Kaffee! You typically can only find this in restaurants/cafes rather than the market itself due to the preparation process including flames 🔥 & traditional cups (that they don't want you wandering off with).
🎄Live music takes place in the Marktplatz on select evenings. This is a great area to eat + drink with fellow market-goers.
🎄This is one of the more dog-friendly markets & many restaurants allow dogs as well!
🎄Visiting during the day? Take a ferry across to Bingen & explore some castles. Burg Reichenstein, Rheinstein & Klopp are all easily accessible from here. You can even mark '😴 in a castle' off your list at

This is one of our favorite cities to visit year-round so if you have any questions, we're happy to help!🎅

Want to visit a Christmas Market THIS weekend?🎅 Great news, Essen's markets are open!

I truly think Essen has some of the best & most underrated markets in Germany:
🎄 Medieval Market where kids forge their own horseshoes, adults clink clay mugs filled with Mead (a medieval alcoholic drink) & taverns bustle with turkey legs + live musical acts.
🎄 Glühwein stall featuring... a giant singing moose head! Yup, you read that right. HE SINGS.
🎄 Four major market areas filled with glittering lights & endless photo opportunities. I'm not kidding when I say their main market took my breath away with its lights.
🎄 Colorful Ferris Wheel to observe the festivities from above.
🎄 Sizzling steaks, rainbow crepes & all the other amazing snacks you could desire.
🎄 Markets begin directly across from the train station & weave all around the city.
🎄 Parking was easy & not overly crowded during the day. There are tons of large parking garages suitable for big vehicles.
🎄 MUGS!!! They have the cutest clay & reindeer mugs every year!
🎄 Dogs allowed at all markets!

If you're still scouting a 'home base' for market hopping, then Essen is the place to be.⛄️ It's perfectly situated for training or driving to Aachen, Dusseldorf, Cologne & even the Netherlands!
