BREAKING: The spokesperson of the South Sudan National Police Service said that about 600 suspects broke out of a military detention facility in Giada, Juba, on Wednesday at around 9:30 AM and escape.

According to Col. John Kassara, those who escaped include 550 civilians and 50 members of organized forces.
The suspects were detained for allegedly robbing shops during the violent demonstrations in Juba, which were sparked by the killing of South Sudanese citizens by the Sudanese Armed Forces in Wad Al Madani city, Al Jazira State, a week ago.

AZANDE KINGDOM ANNIVERSARY PREPARATIONS BEGIN

The Committee for the 3rd Anniversary of the Azande Kingdom launched a general cleaning at the Azande Kingdom Palace in the Bazungua, Yambio County on Saturday.

The 3rd Anniversary of the restoration of the Azande Kingdom and installation of King Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue is scheduled for February 9, 2025.

“This initiative was directed by His Majesty King Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue, who, on December 11, 2024, entrusted the young people of the Azande Kingdom with the mandate to organize and oversee this landmark event,” partly reads the statement issued by the organizing committee.

The organizing committee for the 3rd anniversary is dominated by young people, including Sabri Isaac Khamis Gbuku, who chairs the committee, while Ibingo Isaac co-chairs the Juba Coordination Committee.

The King of the Azande Kingdom tasked the young people with mobilizing resources, preparing the venue, mobilizing delegates, designing the program, and being responsible for hosting a successful annual cultural event. The Heart of Western Equatoria

It's all comments and banter online but when you drop your devices and get back to your truths and realities, please remind yourself of this.

Yes, both sides should show compassion, respect, love, care, openness to the other but there will be issues where authority will come in and your husband will come first.

JOURNALISTS UNITE AFTER COLLEAGUE ROBBED

A group of suspected burglars reportedly broke into the house of Anisa FM journalist Eddy Waure in Yambio and stole nearly everything.

The incident prompted a group of journalists to show solidarity with their affected colleague by raising resources to support him.

“We are coming together to support our colleague, Eddy Waure, whose house was broken into by thieves last night,” said Jackson Gaaniko, who is in charge of the resource mobilization, adding that “everything in his home was stolen.”

According to Gaaniko, journalist Eddy was not at home when the thieves broke into his house. He explained that Eddy was away, caring for his ailing sister.

AMF REHABILITATES YAMBIO-JUBA ROAD

The Africano Mande Foundation (AMF) has stepped in to repair the nearly impassable sections of the Yambio-Juba Road to ease the transportation of goods and services.

The road connecting Mundri and Maridi had been in poor condition due to heavy downpours across Western Equatoria, making it extremely difficult to deliver goods to Yambio.

The rehabilitation of the 100-meter stretch of road began a month after the Technical Services teamed up with Rhino Construction Company Limited to repair the damaged section.

HOW ANGELA'S JUBILEE INSPIRES JOYFUL FAITH "Jubilee," an inspiring song by Angela Chibalonza, is an uplifting gospel song celebrating joy and deliverance. It has powerful lyrics that express spiritual victory and thanksgiving. The song encourages the audience to rejoice in God’s blessings and celebrate the freedom and hope found in faith. Angela Chibalonza was born on 26th November, 1976 in Congo. After completing her secondary school education in 1996, she came to Kenya in what she described as a call of God and also to pursue her music career. INSIDE WEDNESDAY'S DECREES Did President Salva Kiir sack the wrong person believed to be the Ibba County Commissioner, or was it a news anchor’s slip of the tongue? South Sudan was abuzz on Wednesday with numerous republican decrees read on the state-run broadcaster, SSBC. Among the decrees, President Salva Kiir removed and appointed new officials to the government of Western Equatoria State. According to the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), President Salva Kiir removed "Phillip Ayoub Gaza" as Commissioner of Ibba County and replaced him with Wilson Tetela. WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT PHILLIP AYOUB GAZA Phillip Ayoub Gaza is a retired General who hails from Ezo County in Western Equatoria State. He has never been the Commissioner of Ibba County. However, Charles Elisama Babua, who is said to have been removed by President Salva Kiir, has been the Commissioner of Ibba County since April 2021 until Wednesday, 7th August 2024, under the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA).
