WHY DOES THE US SUPPORT UKRAINE?!

Frankly speaking, because it agreed to decades ago.

Ukraine, US and Russia all agreed that Ukraine would give up its nuclear weapons in return for support from the US AND Russia against attacks and land invasions.

Russia broke the agreement, the US is keeping its promise.

The US government can walk and chew gum, they can provide aid to other countries AND to their citizens.

If you feel that you aren't getting the support you need, start with your local AND federal legislators and see what bills they voted against that would have supported the aid you feel your community needed.

It's time for us to start working for ourselves and communities. Instead of using social media to complain about things we don't understand, ask Google first.

Look for REPUTABLE SOURCES! Your phone or handheld device isn't the only thing in your house that should be "smart"!

Some of the most heartbreaking interactions I see online, regarding this election, are from women who are LITERALLY afraid for their physical safety.

Whether it is going out in their Right leaning committees wearing their Harris Walz gear or, even more horrifying, intimate partner violence. Women are living in a political climate that is DANGEROUS to us!

Women, your vote is private. You do not have to disclose who you are voting for.

If you are going into the ballot box, no one can see who you are voting for!

If you are filling out your mail-in ballot at the kitchen table with your spouse and you aren't comfortable casting your vote for your candidate of choice, you can complete the ballot, THEN show up to your designated polling location during voting and ask for that ballot to be cancelled. Then, you can vote privately!

Voting is a sacred right that many marginalized communities fought to earn. IT IS ILLEGAL TO INTIMIDATE VOTERS FOR ANY REASON INCLUDING SPOUSES AND FAMILY MEMBERS!

If you feel you or someone is being intimidated, check the official US site to get information on what to do and who to contact.

Learn where to report voter fraud, campaign finance crime, and voting rights violations such as voter intimidation and suppression.

Now that I'm done volunteering at the rally (and my feet are screaming at me!), I just want to say VOLUNTEER!!!

First of all, you meet ALL KINDS of different people! Second of all, the energy, kindness, hope and joy are palpable!

This is my plea to everyone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a way to get connected and volunteer in some way with your local Democrats. We NEED it!! To win the electoral college it is really going to be down to turn out.

There are sooooooo many different ways to help and NOTHING IS TOO SMALL.

I love us for real and I really want so much better than what some ppl are trying to give us. We deserve way more!

That guy lied a lot tonight but here is more information on the "border czar" lie.

VP Harris was NEVER tasked with border security. That's the department of Homeland security.

As a vice president, she didn't make ANY policy.

Trump and the Republicans know that. That's why you don't ever see anyone asking him about what Pence did in office outside of not throwing out our election on Jan 6. He was supposed to lead the efforts on Covid and you saw how that went.

The "why didn't she do it in office?" question is moot because that's literally NOT her job.

However, VP Harris was given a role and she actually provided solutions to THAT SPECIFIC task and no matter how much Trump and co. lie about it, that won't make it true.

He's an incompetent nightmare that can't form complete and coherent sentences, running against a woman who was more qualified than Barack Obama was when he ran.

So go ahead and dead this argument and find another goal post to move. 😊

The vice president was given a much more narrow task on immigration than her critics have claimed.

This 70 year old man just called me from Mass to talk about politics and I don't think he was even ready for me, lmbo.

We had a pleasant convo! I mentioned to him that (among other reasons) I vote and stay up-to-date on politics for my older family members who would lose their income and healthcare if social security and Medicare are cut.

When we were hanging up he said, "Tell your relatives or loved ones of older age that they have many reasons to be proud of you!" 🥹🥹🥹

Y'all, I had to hurry off the phone cuz I bout cried 😂🤣

Ukraine FINALLY got support and they are now taking back major ground in Russian territory. Causing Russia to have to pull out of Ukrainian cities to respond.

It's almost like, if there wasn't a hold up of support, they could have gained ground MONTHS ago to speed up the end of this war.

We haven't had to send a single soldier, just billions of dollars in OLD EQUIPMENT that the US needed to replace or scrap soon anyways.

That's what support for Ukraine means. We do NOT send Ukraine money, we send them weapons and equipment from OUR stockpiles from our DEFENSE BUDGET (Our nation spends more money on defense than ANY other nation by A LOT). The "money" that is allocated in bills through Congress is then used to replace our American stock.

Meaning, everyday that Republicans were in Congress fighting about "sending money" to Ukraine, they were really delaying the ability to replenish our own stock in the event of an attack.

THEY KNOW THIS but they know that YOU DON'T!

Now, let me ask you this. Would you rather we send our man and women into combat in Ukraine OR we send them what they need to handle their own war? To prevent Putin from then crossing into Poland or any other neighboring NATO country which would ENSURE deployment of our troops?

Which one would you prefer?

**And no, I'm not going to respond to comments like "feeding the poor instead" or "giving that money to US citizens for XYZ" because that's not a real answer in THIS conversation. For THIS budget that doesn't go to civilians anyways. And while I believe the government can walk and chew gum at the same time, the argument to spend less on defense is separate from this and one that I would consider a deflection.**

Kamala was an attorney, then DA of San Francisco. She then became Attorney General of California. The second largest department of Justice after the US department of Justice.

DAs and prosecutors don't either try cases or provide plea deals. Judges provide sentences.

Also, ma*****na incarcerations went down under her tenure as AG.

A certain political party is now arguing that the US is not a democracy so it's time for:
🌟DIDJA know US History with Brandi🌟

The United States is a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC, as written in our constitution.

Democratic because we GOVERN OURSELVES.

Republic because we then choose REPRESENTATIVES to represent us.

Meaning, normal citizens can RUN to represent their communities or states and then the people can VOTE to choose that person (or not).

The ✨NEW✨ argument is that we are a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC which is correct, because our republic is written in our constitution.

HOWEVER, a Constitutional Republic IS A TYPE OF DEMOCRACY.

So if you hear someone saying the US isn't a Democracy but a Constitutional Republic, let them know that's it's the same thing. 😊

TL;DR The US is indeed a Democracy and one side is now trying to pretend it isn't to protect a convicted felon.
