Surving su***de loss, what a truth this is. Next month will be one year since my baby boy at the age of 29 took his life. I am able to survive but some days I just want to cry and feel the loss. Everyone says you are doing great! Great? Really because I feel like I put this mask on for you not for me, I wear it so that you won’t feel bad. I have days where I don’t think about him as gone but somewhere I am not able to reach him by phone. Like he’s in another country or on another planet, lol. Today isn’t a good day but maybe tomorrow will be better..

With Christmas around the corner I am just like a hamster on a wheel making sure his daughter has something but I so don’t want to celebrate it, I know he would want me too, and I am trying but this will take time. I can only hope next year is easier.

Please help. Our son died by su***de 12/21. He just graduated in June 2021. We have developed a SU***DE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION license plate. Please share on your social media pages, in office or in newsletters, or with any groups you think might find this helpful. In order to save lives, it's critical that we recognize the symptoms of these biological diseases that cause su***de.
There is still stigma associated with these illnesses, which can prevent people from getting help. Your willingness
to talk about depression and su***de with a friend, family member, or co-worker can go a long way in reducing
stigma. Education is the key to understanding the tragedy of su***de that, in many cases, can be prevented.
Oftentimes, it is helpful asking the questions more than once and in different ways. This will allow you to get a
better description on how he is feeling and will ultimately help with offering them the necessary help they need.
