While conducting routine business checks on Monday afternoon, officers discovered a broken window at a vacant commercial property in the 2600 block of Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge. Upon further inspection, it was determined that entry had been made through a rear window.

Inside, a safe and cash register were found damaged. It remains unclear whether any items were stolen from the property. The investigation is ongoing, and the Prince William County Police Department encourages anyone with information to come forward.

Initial findings indicate no signs of foul play, and authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the community related to the incident. The cause of death has not been released, and further details may be provided as the investigation continues.

Police say Dixon kicked one officer and injured another’s hand while being detained. She was taken into custody and charged with:

Two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer

Disorderly conduct

Obstruction of justice

Bond was unavailable at the time of reporting, and her court date is pending.

Authorities responded to the 4100 block of Churchman Way to investigate a case of property destruction after bullets were found to have entered a neighboring residence. The investigation revealed that 19-year-old Maxwell Xavier Johnson of Woodbridge discharged a firearm while handling it carelessly.

No injuries were reported in the incident. On October 6, Johnson was charged with reckless handling of a firearm. He was released on a court summons and is awaiting a court date.

A verbal altercation between two groups of teens at Potomac Mills escalated into a dangerous situation on October 4 when a firearm was brandished. The incident unfolded near the food court and resulted in a 14-year-old boy being chased to Round 1 Bowling & Arcade, where staff quickly alerted authorities.

Officers arrived and detained the suspect, 18-year-old Marcus Dearunda Douglas Jr. of Woodbridge, who was accompanied by two juvenile males. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported. Police recovered a firearm, later determined to be stolen.

Douglas was arrested and charged with:

Brandishing a firearm

Possessing a concealed weapon

Receiving a stolen firearm

Two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor

A tragic shooting incident unfolded late Thursday night outside the Alamo Drafthouse in the Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center. Police responded to reports of gunfire and found two men with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, a 21-year-old man, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was found on the sidewalk. Despite first aid efforts by officers and rescue personnel, he died from his injuries.

An 18-year-old man also sustained a grazed wound to his lower body but did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled immediately after the shooting and has not been located. According to investigators, the shooting does not appear to be random. Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.

A 35-year-old woman reported that while sitting in her vehicle, she was approached by an unknown man who exposed himself and made inappropriate gestures. Thankfully, witnesses quickly intervened, prompting the suspect to flee the scene on foot. No physical contact occurred, and the woman was unharmed.

Following the incident, Prince William County Police launched an investigation. By September 30, they had identified the suspect as Marvin Ismel Escobar Medrano, a 35-year-old resident of Woodbridge. He was formally charged on October 1 with indecent exposure and released on a court summons.

Police are investigating a reckless handling of a firearm incident that occurred in a quiet residential area of Woodbridge, VA. The incident was reported to Prince William County Police on September 30, though the event itself took place nearly two weeks earlier.

According to the investigation, the homeowner on Pheasant Hunt Road reported hearing a loud noise late on the night of September 17, followed by an unknown object striking the house. Initially, there was no sign of damage. However, several days later, the homeowner discovered a bullet lodged inside the residence.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and no additional property damage was identified. Authorities are continuing to investigate the source of the gunfire.

An incident outside the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge VA led to the arrest of a man who reportedly threatened hospital staff and attempted to assault a police officer.

Officers were dispatched to the hospital after reports of an individual acting aggressively toward staff. When they arrived, they found the suspect, later identified as 31-year-old William Daniel Vier of Woodbridge, standing outside the building.

According to police, Vier attempted to charge at one of the officers. As the officer tried to detain him, Vier allegedly attempted to strike the officer. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the encounter.

Following the investigation, William Daniel Vier was arrested and charged with attempted assault and battery on a law enforcement officer. He is currently being held without bond, and a court date is pending.

An intoxicated man caused a disturbance at a local hotel late Wednesday night, resulting in multiple charges including assaulting law enforcement officers.

Police were called to the Quality Inn on Horner Road just after 11:00 PM, where they encountered Doron Rashad Fields, 42, of Dumfries, reportedly yelling at guests in the hotel lobby. Upon attempting to detain Fields, officers say he became combative and kicked two of them. Minor injuries were sustained during the encounter.

Fields was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, and public intoxication. He is being held without bond, and a court date is pending.
