Hello friends! I need some networking help!

I recently sponsored a dear friend, Valeriia Lebedieva, to come to the States. She is incredibly self-reliant, hard-working, and a fantastic programmer. I am trying to connect her to potential jobs and need your help to pass along her CV.

She has four years of experience in Java software development and is open to new opportunities anywhere in the US. (And does NOT need sponsorship for a work permit! She is good to go!)

I can't upload a PDF so I just converted her CV to images, but I'll put the link to the PDF in the comments.

Many of you will remember SophiaMarc Lundy from Episode 7 on the Mom Spectrum. Her home country, Haiti, is feeling the devastating consequences of a recent earthquake.

She has been posting ways to help and I wanted to share them here for anyone that has the means!

From her post:

"Anyone who wants to help with medical supplies, food, ect....can donate to BRAFS ( Bridges N Friends) an Haitian non-profit working with locals on the ground insuring that 100% of the proceeds go to the victims: https://www.brafs.org/

They need TENTS ( $25walmart tent if u are in USA) I will tell you where to send it to in Miami ( Shippex is helping to get stuff to Haiti). Tons of kids are sleeping in the streets right now, especially the ones who lost their parents."

You can also contact me for the address to send the tents. It is a personal friend in Florida who is organizing getting supplies from the States to Haiti.

Thank you!

I feel so honored to be featured on BYU's Marriott School of Management alumni profiles. I loved getting to chat with Kenna Pierce and love that I was able to talk about life since university and creating The Mom Spectrum. (I guess this means I need to get moving on Season 2!)

Hi Moms!

I just tuned in to this free parenting workshop going on this week virtually at AFineParent.com. It is totally free to listen to this week and you can pay to be able to continue to listen to it later.

I love the example the host/organizer shared that if your child was struggling in math, you wouldn't hesitate to get them a tutor or some help, but many of us struggle through parenting without really doing anything to help ourselves improve our ability to parent.

I believe you just need to go to AFineParent.com to register and all the information you need will be e-mailed to you.

Let me know what you think!

Check out this week's episode with Sophia Lundy!

I loved talking to Sophia about her experience being a mom with many different cultural influences in her life. She grew up in Haiti and the States, and lived in Paraguay.

She is very open about challenges she had with daycare issues, racism, and finding the right work that worked for her and her family.

A huge thank you to Sophia for all she shared in this week's episode of 'The Mom Spectrum.'

TODAY on The Mom Spectrum:

Catherine Jarvis was someone I had in mind to interview as soon as I met her. When I did interview her, she expressed her story so eloquently. She is truly an inspiring person, and I'm so exited to share her story today!

Check out today's episode where Catherine Jarvis shares her journey of becoming a doctor with the aspirations of excelling as a physician and as a mom. She and her husband built their family through IVF, adoption and foster parenthood. She shares her experiences of overcoming criticism, going through infertility, and how she balances her work as a mother, doctor, involved community member, and church member.

Interviewing Nadia was such a treat. She is so positive and upbeat. I honestly just enjoy talking to her and love her family so I knew she would be a great person to ask to talk about her story.

She is a great example of prioritizing her family and returning to work when the time was right for her.

I love how much her work life coincides with her family. She collaborated with her mother-in-law working on weddings. She includes her kids in her work. I know we talk about it a lot on the show, but it is just so true that our work can be a positive thing for our families.

I read Erica Komisar's 'Being There: Why Prioritizing Motherhood in the First Three Years Matters' as a very new mom. For me, it was influential in validating my value as a mother and my choice to scale back my professional life for a season.

Erica Komisar was very generous to take her time to talk with me, and I couldn't have been more thrilled. Her position (as she talks about in this episode) is interesting as she is stuck politically between two political parties that like half of her ideas, particularly in the US.

I hope you all enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed creating it!

I am so excited to share Meghan's story today! She was the first person I asked to be interviewed, even before I really knew what this project would look like. (I started out thinking I would do videos, but thought podcasts would be easier to record and listen to.)

Meghan has a crazy cool business. She started Nesting Your Business to help business owners who are parents mange their roles in their business and as a parent. This is something I would have loved as a new mom. She has a unique ability to help people find creative solutions to excel as parents and business owners.

I hope you enjoy!

Hi!

My name is Stephanie Schindler, and I host a podcast called The Mom Spectrum.

The Mom Spectrum is all about celebrating the many unique options and choices we have as moms. Some of us work by care giving our family, some work in a career full time, and many are somewhere in between.

I am so excited to share the stories of these amazing women.

Please share your own story here! What kind of work do you do? How did you decide what path you would take?

Thank you so much!
