Ironic destiny!
I started my freelancing journey in June 2021 💥
1️⃣ month later, my latest employer (I had a temporary contract with them) contacted my to see If I wanted to join them on a more permanent basis. I could be here pretending that it was a hard decision but it wasn't. I always strived for independence and flexibility, I wanted to work remotely, so I held my ground.
2️⃣ months later, the employer that laid me off in April 2020 because of Covid got in touch to see if I was available to resume my position. This was actually a bit harder, because it was a great company that offered flexibility and ability to work from home.. but not remote work.
NOW. It's only been 6 months of freelancing, there's been bumps on the road. I didn't "hit six figures in the first six months" like those wonderkids you see on instagram. I've done all this to be able to work for myself and work REMOTELY, something that, because of Covid and other difficulties, I haven't been able to do yet. So yes, it's frustrating and disappointing. And I almost wanted to accept that latest position. But I didn't.
So today I celebrate this: not choosing the easiest path.
