Viral video exposes how Museveni has turned Uganda into an absolute lawless military state
A viral video showing armed UPDF soldiers threatening to shoot civilian road users has aroused immense outrage from Ugandans countrywide. However, the reaction from the UPDF spokesperson elicited even more disgust and disillusion. In a phone interview with one of the media houses, Brig. Flavia Byekwaso came out to defend the UPDF soldiers, commending them for exercising what she called โrestraintโ instead of condemning them. Byekwaso insinuated that the soldiers should have shot the civilian for confronting them and for reckless driving that almost cost their lives.
The UPDF spokespersonโs statement that came before any investigations were conducted, made it clear that Uganda had descended into a complete lawless country, where the army can terrorize Ugandans with impunity. One soldier is seen wrestling with a civilian, who struggles not to be shot by the soldier. When another soldier disarms him, the soldier pulls out a pistol from under his shirt and aims at the civilian.
In the viral video, two unidentified armed UPDF soldiers and their boss are seen confronting a man who is believed to be the driver of a white Toyota Altezza in Gomba. As the soldiers scuffle with the civilian, two terrified and enraged ladies who are occupants of a saloon car are heard complaining and condemning the soldiers for reckless driving and arrogance. As the car occupants film, they remind the soldiers that their lawlessness would be witnessed by the whole world. As they document the impunity, the ladies question why the soldiers and their boss would engage in such acts of impunity.
The boss of the two soldiers has since been identified as Yiga Kissakyamukama who resides in Lungujja, Katongole Estate, and is guarded by two military police guards. According to our sources, Yiga has no known military background, except that he often tells his neighbors that he is related to Museveni. He on
Museveni killed Col Abiriga, he canโt blame this gruesome murder on others
President Museveniโs previous statements, on the wave of abductions and extra- judicial killings of innocent Ugandans by security forces, his claims that the crimes were โforeign linkedโ, are as pathetic as his leadership. If he failed to produce culprits of previous murders, he canโt use unknown foreigners as scapegoats for his crimes.
Since the 1980s, despot Museveni has killed a record number of courageous and patriotic Ugandans military officers and politicians including his friends, allies, and family members whom he deemed threats to his hunger for power and his plans to become Ugandaโs life president.
One of the cases relates to the late Arua Municipality MP, Ibrahim Abiriga who was brutally murdered on June, 8, 2018. Abirigaโs family is yet to get justice - just like so many others.
When Abiriga was shot in his home Kawanda by Boda Boda riding assassins, Museveni was quick to rush to the crime scene to attest himself whether his mission was accomplished. As usual he promised โinvestigationsโ, an empty promise that never yields any results. No justice is given to surviving families, no culprit ever produced before courts of law.
Abiriga was a patriotic Ugandan whom Museveni owed a big sum of money. It was said Museveni was reneging on paying him. So Abiriga was executed.
Blaming third parties in such cases is a cowardly act that can only come from Museveni. Like a good lawyer once put it, God has a strange way of downing dictators like Museveni by first hardening their hearts against own people, with obsessions of killings and or kidnapping, before he embarrasses them with a hard-hitting fall.

Speaking to the press right after the abductions of members of his campaign team today enroute to Namayingo, Robert Kyagulanyi exposed Museveni regimeโs plan to eliminate him! The NUP flag bearer went ahead to condemn Justice Simon Byabakama, the Electoral Commission chairman for his continued silence in the face of President Museveniโs illegal, unconstitutional, violent maneuvers.
โNow they are trying to isolate me so that they can harm me!โ Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine disclosed. โYesterday, they arrested 3 people on our media team; then they arrested 17 people on our new medical, security and support teams.
โWe are concerned that they are planning something dangerous on me and the entire teamโs lives. That is why they are trying to isolate me by arresting everyone around me!โ added the wildly popular candidate.
โThe oppression that is ongoing shows you Museveniโs fear and panic, faced with losing, and youโve seen that Mr. Byabakama and the Electoral Commission have been conspicuously silent about the wave of irregularities that is ongoing, or the misbehavior of the security forces against me. Mr. Byabakama is only pretending not to be seeing what is happening,โ Kyagulanyi added.
According to observers that follow Ugandaโs elections closely, Museveni has seriously panicked due to the massive support that his strongest challenger in 35 years has galvanized all over country despite all the state repression. State security forces have tried hard to stop him, firing teargas and live bullets at him and his NUP supporters, jailing him, and other repressive methods. SFC commander and First Son Lt.

Today over 90 National Unity Platform (NUP) members including Ssebuufu Edward alias Eddie Mutwe and Bukenya Ali alias Nubian Lee appeared at Masaka Magistrateโs Court five days after they were illegally arrested and detained.
The group was arrested in Kalangala where NUP flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi was for his presidential campaign.
Among other fabricated crimes, the suspects will be charged with โa negligent act likely to spread an infectious disease (Covid-19). But the way they were brought to court was an act of human rights violation by the regime. They were brought packed in a very old prisons' truck, without observing the social distancing, or any other measure of preventing the spread of the pandemic. This just shows their arrest by the panicked regime has nothing to with Covid-19 allegations.
โIt is very obvious that our comradesโ crime was not to disregard Covid-19 SOPs, but supporting Kyagulanyi, who has panicked the dictator,โ wrote an NUP supporter on Twitter.
For the last 5 days the NUP members were illegally held even beyond the stipulated 48 hours and subjected to serious torture. For instance, as seen in a video that is going viral on Twitter, many of the NUP members were limping as they got off the old prisons' truck. In addition, Lukeman Mwijukye as he showed it to Chief Magistrate, Charles Yetiese, was injured on the head by men in Uniform and said that his private parts were squeezed and his camera confiscated.
โItโs been two days since the police were alleging that our comrades have not been tortured, but now clear evidence is avai

Following the chaos sown by Museveni ever since the start of campaigns: the abductions and mass killings; the beatings and torture; the shooting of teargas and pepper spray against supporters of Kyagulanyi by police, SFC, LDUs, Army Reserves, any numbers of NRM influencers and supporters are tired of it all. They are crossing over to NUP, and getting behind its flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
A video of Isma Olaxess, an NRM influencer and blogger that has been making the rounds on social media platforms since yesterday, exposing and trashing NRM for their greed, grabbing everything they touch, is just one example. Isma has been seen around in differently videos demonizing Bobi Wine, and always thanking the police for brutalizing innocent Ugandans in their repressive campaign against Kyagulanyi and the NUP.
But the same Isma is seen in this particular video (thatโs doing the rounds) cursing Dr. Daina Atwine, Jane Ruth Acheng and Judith Nabakoza for embezzling covid money, leaving completely nothing for Covid relief!
Isma who reveals he knows all the information about these people says they are all very greedy and seek to empty Uganda coffers to make themselved and their families rich beyond imagination. โI know very well all these skyscrapers risimg in Kampala are all yours! We know how much you buy citizenships abroad for your family members! you are so greedy that you ate Covid-19 money that was supposed to buy masks and oxygen, but now we canโt find answers to questions!โ said the irate Isma. โYou all are not the first. You will die and leave these building. People like you have come and gone!โ he remarked.
He added that he doesnโt understand the reasoning of NRM people, and doesnโt trust them. โThese people can make you support the opposition: thatโs why I can never be on M7โs cabinet, not at all. Go report me to the president!โ he added.

Yesterday the โstate of security updateโ press conference collapsed after journalists decided to walk out. Major General Henry Matsiko, the UPDF chief political commissar, and Brigadier Proscovia Nalweyiso, UPDF chief spokesperson, appealed to journalists to stay for the conference to proceed but to no avail.
Journalists got angered by the two generals acting as though they were Museveniโs campaign spokespersons instead of officers of a supposedly politically neutral army.
When Gen Matsiko began talking, he heaped blame for the violence on NUP supporters who he claimed had invited the confrontation onto themselves by attending campaigns. Meanwhile, Museveniโs supporters had been attending his rallies without facing the same violence from the army or police.
The journalists, whose colleagues have also been at the receiving end of this violence, rejected this biased narrative and walked out. Brig Nalweyiso couldnโt do much to save the event as journalists assured her that โwe are united, we are not going to betray each other.โ (Tuli wamu tetujja kwelyamu lukwe).
Journalists finally have stepped up against the dictator who has always taken them for granted thinking he could buy or browbeat them into silence.
Their silence has in the past helped Museveni promote his myth as a democrat who respects media freedom.
Change is coming faster than the dictator thought.
Very soon he will be left only with his immediate family and diehard sections of his by now fully personalised security forces supporting him
