It’s monster mash October! We’re starting our month of monster romances with Moth by Lily Mayne. This book had big squee moments. We love a grumpy sunshine dynamic with plenty of steamy MM scenes that are so thoughtfully written and explore ongoing consent in a beautiful and sexy way. We adore Lily Mayne. We’ll be featuring another of her books next week.

This week we’re discussing Whispers of the Deep by Emma Hamm 🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♂️

Y’all this book had no business being this good, but like a fish on a hook, we were snagged by this story. We have an enemies to lovers, monster f-cking tale with an intelligent, clever human FMC who’s just trying to live and an undine (merman) MMC who’s so tired of humans ruining his home.

Our new episode is up! We’re discussing A Touch of Chaos by Scarlett St. Clair, the last book in her Hades x Persephone saga.

Y’all, this book was non-stop, and it certainly would have helped us to read the last book from Hades POV, not just as a reminder for what had happened in A Touch of Malice, but also because there had to be some behind he scenes stuff in Hades’ book that we missed out on. Reflecting on how H&P have developed from AToD to the last book was just so good. Our Shadow Daddy and Goddess of Spring have grown so much 🥲

This book has triggers for dub con and SA, as does our episode. Take care of yourselves 💜

In our newest episode, we discuss So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens. Our main character, Arek, struggles to figure out his next steps after fulfilling a prophecy, and unintentionally becomes king of Ere. Missteps and magic bind him to the role, and he must find a partner, someone to bind soul to, before his birthday.

This book has loads of LGBTQ+ representation, features magic, fantasy, and fully embodies the miscommunication trope. We covered this as our second pride month read, and it was a delight! It had us both wishing we could refer to our leaders as kind.

In our newest episode, we discuss Eragon by Christopher Paolini. We appreciated the story telling, the world building and we loved Saphira and her relationship with Eragon.

We missed the boat on reading this when we were younger, so this was a first read for us both! Have you read Eragon? What did you think?

Our newest episode is live! This week, we’re discussing Chasm by Stacey McEwan! We were really excited to get to this story—there’s tons of action, some angst and a little romance. Dawsyn remains a kicka$$ queen and we loved her.

New episode! This week we’re discussing Craving in His Blood by Zoey Draven and it was an excellent palate cleanser after Iron Flame. Zoey Draven is so good at writing the perfect amount of romantic angst in her stories.

This book leads us to the planet Krynn, with sexy aliens who feed on blood, an FMC who’s just trying to find her place in a new world and an MMC who’s torn between choosing love versus duty.

Oh friends, I just finished Run Riot by Colette Rhodes and it was SPECTACULAR. We’ve got a slowwww burn, reverse harem with “good vs evil but the good is maybe evil” vibes! AND maybe it’s just me but this felt like an allegory for purity culture and the evangelical church…I mean, down to the purity rings, training women to be submissive females and the conservative dress…except with polyamory 😅 **no PIV or PIA seggs in this book, buuuut some outstanding scenes with manual stimulation 👋

Anyway, this is book one of five, on KU, and you can bet I’ve already gotten the next in the series.

If you’ve ever the The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and thought, “this would be so much better with smut”, you are in for a treat with Hollow by CM Nascosta. This book is comprised of two novellas—one centered around Ichabod Crane and one about Katrina van Tassel. Both are exceedingly entertaining and terrifically sexy.

Oh friends, we love an alien romance, and what better time to satisfy your alien urges with an IPB book than now?

Ruby Dixon’s book, Barbarian Mine, is the fourth installment of her Ice Planet Barbarians series and it was SO cute.

Who else has ventured into the world of Not Hoth? 😂
