Meet our Jerk of the Week and major contender for Jerk of the Year, former Mets GM Jared Porter. In 2016, Jared Porter sent over 60 unsolicited texts and images to a woman reporter, culminating in a picture of his erect p***s. At the time, Jared Porter was the Director of Professional Scouting for the Chicago Cubs and had since been hired by the Mets in December as their new General Manager. The Mets have now fired Porter and cut all ties.

The reporter detailed this to ESPN in 2016 but had asked it to be kept a secret in fear of it impacted her job. This is a sad reflection of the realities that women deal with on a daily basis in the workplace. She decided to come forward now, since Jared’s promotion and increase in power would surely lead to him continuing to abuse it and others around him. We’re all very thankful she was able to share her story.
