It’s been over 3 years since I filmed and produced “Behind Blue Lights: On Duty with the Reading Police Department.” It was an amazing experience getting to know my local police officers and filming them on their patrol duties. Check it out here!

***CRIME ALERT and PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT***

Officers with the Elon Police Department responded to and took 25 (and counting) reports of vehicles that were broken into during the night of Thursday April 15 and Friday morning April 16. The suspects were targeting unlocked vehicles. In addition to personal property taken out of these 25 cars, we also had 2 vehicles stolen. Again, vehicles were unlocked with the keys inside them. These criminals hit areas fast, usually in groups, and look for quick opportunities. We need your help to make Elon less appealing for the thefts.

We urge each member of our community to please use the 9pm Routine and remember to:

HIDE your belongings
LOCK your car
TAKE your keys

Our investigation is pending but we have developed some leads. One stolen vehicle was recovered following a single vehicle crash last night in Burlington.

No, this is not a clip from 2006. It may be hard to believe but I actually shot this back in September of last year. That old brick bar with the rotators really cuts through the night in a way that today’s LED technology just can’t replicate. Orange County still has a handful of vics with the MX7000 in service. I hope all my old school LEOs enjoy this one 😉

September 26, 2020: A cross-county pursuit came to an end in Graham after Alamance County Deputies pinned the suspect’s vehicle. As deputies approached the driver, he exited and swung a machete at them, and deputies fired at the suspect, allegedly hitting him in the foot. The suspect then barricaded himself inside the wrecked vehicle for over 30 minutes before he was taken into custody without further incident and transported by ambulance. I was riding with the Graham Police Department that night and we provided backup for primary units. The pursuit originated in Orange County after a hit and run on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill. Units from the Orange County Sheriff’s office as well as Alamance were primary on the pursuit. Support was provided at the scene by Graham Police, Burlington Police, NC Highway Patrol troopers, UNC Campus Police, Graham Fire, Alamance Rescue EMS, as well as NC SBI who investigated the officer-involved shooting.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Alamance County Sheriff’s office Chargers line the street after the conclusion of a multi-county pursuit on 9/25 which included a PIT maneuver and deputies firing at the suspect, who swung a machete at officers. Following a 30+ minute standoff the suspect was safely taken into custody and transported by ambulance.

A popular hobby among those in law enforcement is patch collecting and trading. Although I am not a LEO, through my work on social media and with several police agencies, I started my own patch collection. I display my collection on a thin blue line flag, and I am always excited to receive a new patch. If you would like to send me a patch for my collection please message or DM us on Instagram. Nothing here is for sale or up for trade.

Back in June we were invited by Officer Matt Hurley to shoot some footage of their new 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, the first one in the fleet. Here is a compilation of clips showing off the cruiser’s impressive Whelen lighting package, the latest and one of the most advanced LED technology on the market.

The Salem Police traffic unit conducts a stop on a motorist clocked on radar going 54 in a 35 zone on 6/22/19. Conducting the stop is the late Officer Dana Mazola, who tragically passed away just 368 days after our ride along in an off-duty car accident on 6/25/20. Dana was a friend of BlueLight and I’m proud to share this amazing footage with everyone in his memory.

We give you a rooftop view of Salem MA Police Department car 24 responding to a medical call on Boston street back on 6/26/19. The officer safely navigates through traffic congestion to get to the caller and render aid. Always yield to lights/sirens and move over for stopped emergency vehicles!
