Our 2025 premiere is nigh! THIS TUESDAY, Digging for Kryptonite will return with a discussion of SUPERMAN REBORN (aka SUPERMAN: THE NEW MOVIE), the unmade 5th Christopher Reeve film written by Cary Bates & Mark Jones.

There was recently a live reading of the previously unseen FIRST DRAFT (a third draft has been floating around online for years), which will be available to view for free on YouTube this Monday.

Digging for Kryptonite has received a special early look at the performance, and our episode will drop the very next day. It’s the ultimate coda to our end-of-2024 tour through the Reeve movies!

We’re starting 2025 with a banger run of standalone eps before we launch into our two biggest events of the year, all leading to Episode 200 this Spring. Don’t miss any of it! Make sure you’re subbed via your platform of choice & stay tuned.

A preference for an aspect of the Superman mythology that other fans don’t seem to share? Some opinion that you know will have other fans “come at you”?

Daniel Sanchez joins me to discuss “Around the World with Superman,” the heartwarming tale of a young blind girl who doesn’t believe in Superman. Spoiler: it’s a slam-dunk 5-fedora episode!

💥 “All that ends…RIGHT NOW!” Okay, folks, the time has come for our SUPERMAN & LOIS Season 4 post-mortem! Sweet-Sweet Bernie returns as we discuss the final 10 episodes of the series, including its take on Doomsday, the death & return, Lex Luthor, the secret identity, those final moments, and more.

Look, it’s no secret that I didn’t have the experience with this season that I wanted to (and that many of you seemed to). A bunch of you will disagree with my assessment of the season or wonder why I didn’t get more mileage out of certain aspects. And that’s okay!

It’s a journey, after all, and what you’re getting here is an honest, unfiltered, and pretty immediate reaction to the season from someone who cares about all of this very deeply. I always rather defend an underrated show/movie/comic than complain about something that a lot of people enjoyed, but it’s important to me that I never BS you guys about any of what we cover.

As discussed! Here are images from the SUPERMAN IV deleted scenes that we covered on the podcast this week: Clark visiting his parents’ graves; Superman answering Jeremy’s letter in person; Clark & Lacy at the Metro Club; Superman vs. the ORIGINAL Nuclear Man; & Superman flying Jeremy around the world to see the Earth the way he does (echoes of Around the World with Superman from the George Reeves series).

Sadly, to my knowledge, the cemetery and Metro Club scenes have remained unseen except for those original test screenings. The others and more are available on the special features (and on YouTube).

Count me in the camp of wanting to see a properly restored director’s cut of this film!
