Chef Sally Abé Unveils 'The Pem Presents' International Women's Day

We are excited to share that trailblazing Chef Sally Abé has announced a spectacular, month-long four hands female chef series at her signature restaurant, The Pem at Conrad St James, in celebration of International Women's Day and supported by Sera.

Renowned for her annual International Women's Day events, which have consistently sold out within days, this year Sally has curated a stellar line-up of leading female figures in hospitality for a four week series of exclusive dinners. Throughout March, guests will indulge in exclusive dinners crafted in collaboration with acclaimed chefs, Rory Gill MBE, Candice Brown, Poppy O'Toole and Chantelle Nicholson.

For each event Sally will be collaborating with each chef to create an exclusive four-course menu. Sally has also invited select students from Westminster Kingsway College into the kitchen, providing them with an invaluable opportunity to immerse themselves in hands-on learning alongside both Sally and the collaborating chefs.

We are very excited to announce a new member to the Yellow Poppy Media family, Tasha Stones.

Tasha Stones was a semifinalist on The Great British Bake Off 2023, and the show’s very first deaf contestant.

Her flavours are inspired by her love of travel. Having spent some of her childhood in Australia, she worked in Japan as a ski instructor after finishing school and travelled the Silk Road in Central Asia post-university (in a converted Soviet-era ambulance). Tasha is always on the lookout for the next adventure. She’s also a bit of an adrenaline ju**ie: the faster, the higher, the better! She loves to try new things, from playing women’s rugby at Durham University, to giving figure skating and adult gymnastic classes a go while living in London.

Having "won the heart of the nation", Digital Spy's readers voted Tasha as 2023's 'Best Breakthrough Reality Star'. Since leaving the Bake Off tent Tasha has enjoyed sharing her baking journey on social media. She is excited to explore new opportunities in broadcast, print media and in collaboration with brands.

Tasha communicates via both speech and British Sign Language/Sign Supported English and was supported by her interpreter on the Great British Bake Off. Normalising deafness is hugely important to Tasha, through the inclusion of deaf people and their range of communication styles in mainstream media. She is excited about using her platform to further amplify this message. When she’s not baking, Tasha works with deaf young people in the charity sector.

Asmaa Al-Allak joins Yellow Poppy Media 👏

Winner of the The British Sewing Bee 2023, Asmaa, who was born in Iraq, gained her love for sewing from her Grandmother who she was a seamstress.

She now lives in Cardiff with her husband and two children, where she is a Consultant Breast Surgeon at a Cancer Centre.

We are thrilled to announce that British/Indian chef, food/travel writer and broadcaster has joined the Yellow Poppy family.

Romy, who was appointed MBE in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours list, is a regular face on TV. As well as being one of the chefs on the new version of Ready, Steady, Cook, she has also appeared on Sunday Brunch, The One Show, Celebrity MasterChef and Saturday Morning with James Martin, as well as recently appearing on The Today Show in the US. She has been described by Jamie Oliver as ‘a genius’!

Her debut cookbook Zaika was released in 2019 and her second book On The Himalayan Trail is out now. She has also written for BBC Food, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times and Ocado Magazine.
