I don’t know how to cook that well, BUT I made khaub poob for my boyfriend and his roommate when they recently moved in as a house-warming gift.⁣
⁣
They were so grateful and it tasted delicious!⁣
⁣
Being able to bring people together with food is a gift. I’m excited to learn how to make more dishes on my own!

This is my mama holding me. She was 21 years old when she had me. ⁣
⁣
Every time she tried to look up a Hmong recipe or just “how to do something” related to hmong culture, she noticed a disparity in content.⁣
⁣
We want to share the Hmong American experience and my mama wants to leave helpful videos to teach Hmong etiquette (i.e. dressing for weddings, putting on Hmong clothes) and our favorite...Hmong RECIPES!⁣
⁣
She told me, “I want to leave something behind for my kids and my future grandchildren. I want them to know who their grandma was and to remember who we are.” ⁣
⁣
