It has been announced to start a trial program to provide free shuttle service from King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah to Masjid Haram to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah.

According to the Saudi news agency, a few days ago, the airport administration announced for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims that free transport service will be provided to those who landed at Jeddah Airport to reach Masjid Haram.

Now it has been announced to start a trial service in this regard so that the drivers and other staff traveling on this route can be aware and undergo the experience. These special buses running every 2 hours from Jeddah to Makkah from 10 a.m. It will run till 10 pm

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam on Thursday won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year.

Earlier today, the stylish batsman also won ICC ODI Player of the Year award for the second time in a row.

Babar Azam scored 2,598 runs in 44 matches at an average of 54.12 with eight centuries and 15 half-centuries in 2022.

The committee called on owners of all residential units, who wish to rent out their housing units to accommodate the pilgrims, to contact immediately the designated engineering offices to complete the procedures for issuing permits for their residential units in this regard.
The mayoralty stated that it would continue receiving applications from citizens over the coming period.........

“There are a number of engineering consulting offices accredited by the mayoralty and the Civil Defense to inspect the pilgrims’ housing units to verify whether they fulfilled the terms and conditions stipulated in the regulations, and issue a fitness certificate accordingly. “On the basis of this, the Pilgrims’ Housing Committee will issue permits for the housing units to accommodate the pilgrims,” it said.

The government of Sindh announced on Thursday that it will soon launch pink buses - the first bus service in Pakistan that will be exclusively for women. The service is expected to start next month.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said in a tweet today: “Inshallah Pink buses will start their operation from 1st February in Karachi.”

Last year, the Sindh government launched the country’s first electric bus service in Karachi. It runs from Malir Cantt to Clock Tower Roundabout and Sea View Defence using Khayaban-e-Ittehad. It is also supposed to stop at the airport.

At the time of its launch, Memon had stressed that the bus service was a gift for the people of Karachi and that launch of similar projects will continue.

WhatsApp is to allow voice notes as status in a new feature update, which sounds pretty cool because the messaging app currently lets you send voice messages to regular chats. Here is everything we know about the latest update on WhatsApp.

According to WaBetaInfo report, the new feature in 2.22.21.5 Android beta update, and eligible users will see it in the text status section of the app. The messaging app even lets you configure who all can check out your Voice Status update.

People will also get control over their voice recordings as the app will also give the ability to discard a recording before making it public.

It is unknown whether the play pause process will be as seamless as the one WhatsApp offers for regular chats. It is unclear whether there will be an edit or replay option for the voice status feature. We should get more clarity on this when the feature becomes available for more people.

However, there is a time restriction too on this feature. People will be able to record a voice note for only 30 seconds........

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday revealed the names of the XI players who constitute the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year, with Pakistan skipper Babar Azam as the captain of the squad.

No other Pakistani player makes it to the prestigious list, which was dominated by Australian, New Zealand, and Windies players.

In a statement issued for the announcement of Men’s ODI Team of the Year, the top cricket body said “ICC Team of the Year recognises 11 outstanding individuals who have impressed one and all – be it with the bat, the ball or their all-round exploits in a calendar year.”

Amazon Inc on Monday launched its own air cargo fleet in India, Amazon Air, as it seeks to expand and speed-up deliveries across one of its key markets.

India is the third market, after the United States and Europe, where the company has launched Amazon Air. The Seattle-headquartered firm, which started the service in 2016 in the US, operates a network of over 110 jets that fly to over 70 locations worldwide.

Amazon has tied up with Quikjet Cargo Airline Private Ltd, a Bengaluru-based freight carrier, which will use a lone Boeing 737-800 jet to fly shipments, the company said in a statement.

Quikjet will transport Amazon customer shipments to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai, Amazon said in a press release.
The books-to-boots online retailer, which competes with Walmart Inc-owned Flipkart in India, said the launch of Amazon Air would support over 1.1 million sellers in the country.

Former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf passed away in a Dubai hospital at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness, his family confirmed on Sunday. The former military ruler was undergoing treatment for amyloidosis at American Hospital Dubai. Last year, reports circulated of Musharraf's death but they were rubbished by the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), which was the political party established by the former president. The party had refuted the news related to him being in critical condition or on a ventilator. It added that Musharraf was being treated for amyloidosis at his home and his condition was stable. Amyloidosis is a condition which is caused by a build-up of an abnormal protein in organs and tissues that prevents them from working properly. Musharraf was born on August 11, 1943 in Delhi, British India. He got his commission from the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul on April 19, 1961. Upon getting his commission, the former dictator joined the special services group. The military ruler also took part in the 1965 and 1971 wars. He was promoted to the rank of general in 1998 and took over as the chief of army staff (COAS) a post he held till 2007. A year later on October 12, 1999, Gen (retd) Musharraf usurped power in a coup d'etat. Musharraf remained the longest-serving president of Pakistan as he took over the country's reins. He was elected as the president through a referendum in 2002 and remained in office till 2008. During his tenure, the military leader accepted the US proposal for Pakistan to become a frontline ally after the 9/11 incident. Later in 2004, he was elected as a president in uniform for five year via 17th Amendment in the Constitution of Pakistan. Musharraf is also known for the anti-constitutional measures he took to depose the judges of Supreme Court in November 2007, which marked the beginning of Lawyers' Movement — also known as the Movement for the Restoration of Judiciary.
