Tiny Superheroes by Brittany Loka
In this world, most of us don't want to think about the struggles that go on behind closed doors. There is a light for the parents and kids that have to deal with the fear of life and death, every day. It is called Tiny Superheroes. Parents can sign their children up to receive a cape so they can be the superhero they are because of the battles they fight each day. Once signed up, the family then can share their child's story through a link to raise the money for the cape. Some families are unable to afford the capes and that's where others can help by sponsoring a Tiny Superhero and donating towards their cape.
Many people would ask why a cape would mean so much to kids that they should be sponsored. Well, it is more than just a cape. Kids with any health issues big or small of all ages have many scary events. The capes are something they can take with them to the hospital to help them not be scared. The kids even have chances to earn patches for their capes through monthly activities to involve them in the community and do good things while having fun with friends and family. When a Tiny Superhero passes on they will also gain their Wings Patch. The family then can add it to the cape and remember that their little one is in a better place without pain, and hold onto the cape as a way to stay strong in a difficult time.
The Tiny Superhero family is more than just capes and patches. They also have an online community for the parents to share the good and bad times, ask questions, and when times get tough, ask for the strength to help their child to get through and stay with them longer. The online community is a family that comes together when no one else understands their child's needs and pain. The world outside is made up of rude comments, stares, jokes, and other evils that these kids and parents deal with every day. The Tiny Superhero community gives them the safe place they need to see that the world is not all bad.
That is why sponsoring a cape for a Tiny Superhero is important. Coming from a mother of a Tiny Superhero I know how much these capes can mean to a child first hand. Please help us to keep these kids strong and want to keep fighting every day because they truly are the real Superheroes of this world.
