With the temperatures heating up, maybe it’s time to pop by Anchorage’s newest stone cold awesome dispensary, 🌱
-
This dispensary is small but mighty. If you’re looking for a wide array of flower from different cultivations, you won’t find them here. What you will find is premium bud lovingly grown in small batches to ensure the kind of quality that will have you coming back again and again. We’d recommend picking up a gram of Cheetah P**s – grown in the store's on-site garden. This strain is selling like hot cakes, so don’t delay on stopping by to pick some up for yourself. While there, be sure to check out Cold City’s rocking swag and glass offerings.

It’s no secret that the cannabis industry has a more profound burden and responsibility to social equity than other industries. While things are slowly changing with the decriminalization of Cannabis, there’s still a long way to go. This month, we celebrate the owners, growers, chefs, and Cannapreneurs who have fought for a place in the industry. 🌱

Gotta love seeing a little piece of home all the way in Chicago! Well played, .catalyst 😂

We’re celebrating wanderlust Wednesday by virtually traveling to Spain to check out the country’s Cannabis culture.
-
This past March I ( ) was in Barcelona, sitting with European street artist and puffing on a joint apparently filled with Runtz from somewhere in California … if the label is to be believed.
-
“You look like the Daniel Craig of w**d right now,” I blurted out, which is just the kind of icebreaker that could either kill the conversation or take it to the next level. Thankfully, we were all pretty stoned – so we had a good laugh and talked about Soklak’s vision for the future of Cannabis hospitality in Europe.
-
Soklak is the art director for in Europe. CRTFD is a California-born plant medicine- centric lifestyle brand that does everything from providing artists with regularly paying work, to operating Cannabis social clubs and producing high-quality streetwear.
-
As far as w**d culture in Spain is concerned, Barcelona is definitely the country’s epicenter. In fact, I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say that, thanks to a crackdown on w**d tourism in Amsterdam, Barcelona has emerged from Covid as the clear titan of European Cannabis. The distinction is based on the city’s evolving and growing cultivation and hash cultures (still illegal and therefore underground), along with its positively buzzing private social club culture that operates in a precarious legal gray area, but results in a semi-permanent scene nonetheless.

According to The Knot, as many as 17 percent of people meet their future partners in college. However, how many can say they've built a Cannabis empire with friends from their college MBA program? Likely, not many. But that's precisely what Shaun Tacke, Brandon Emmett and Frank Berardi did.
-
"We met while me and Frank were in college, getting our MBAs at UAF. He pitched an idea of doing a w**d business for a business plan project. The class and professor really loved that we were thinking outside the box, and it got me thinking. After I started running the numbers in my head, I understood how cool of an idea it was," says Tacke.
-
Over the years has made good on their business plan by opening Alaska’s first consumption lounge and producing primo concentrates. Now, they’re tackling the flower market with small-batch, craft Cannabis.

Gotta love cookies that don’t add lbs 🤤
-
PinkSugarCookies tested at a somewhat modest 17.95% THC, which allows the terps to take centerstage. And the numbers don’t lie: Limonene at 7.23mg/g, b-Caryophyllene at 4.58mg/g, and a total terp profile of 25.2 mg/g or 2.52%. All those terps combined sent a wash of feel good vibes from head to toe. As the high developed, it lulled us into a heady euphoria. Even after several hours, the high hadn’t fully subsided – making it very easy to reset it with a fresh bowl. As expected, the second bowl also hit hard without any discernible loss of potency.

We’re wishing our beloved a super happy birthday!
We’re filling out bowls with Deathstar Cherry Pie Rozay from tonight. How about you?
-
The initial hits produced an incredible euphoria that had us wanting to reinvent the wheel, chart unknown galaxies and ponder the impossible. The euphoria lasted anywhere from 20-30 minutes and settled into a continuous happy vibe for another hour or so, before rounding out the high with a feeling of intense relaxation that proved its indica heritage. It was the kind of relaxation that made us want to throw on a Steely Dan album and get lost in the music until sleep kicked in.

Fiji and France may have their own artesian water brands, but is their water bottled from hand-harvested Alaskan glaciers? We think not. And that’s what makes sparkling water special. Utilizing broken chunks of sea ice from Prince William Sound, every drop of water in a can of Holocene has been hand-collected by an Alaskan. If that wasn’t enough, a 12oz can also has 10mg of nano-CBD from organic h**p.

"I shifted what I was doing with glass, too. People wanted ways to memorialize and keep their loved ones with them after they passed. So, I started making cremation pendants. Sometimes it's hard working with ashes because you can still feel the person's soul. But I focus on creating something lasting, something beautiful in honor of the deceased," said

Though Darby Andrews' glassblowing focus has changed over the years, one thing has remained constant – his love of caring for others.
-
"I focus on intention and energy transfer in everything I make. That love and intention is what makes my work uniquely mine, and that's something I'm proud of," said Andrews.

We hope your Wednesday is as 🔥as Soulless Glass in his workshop!

In 2019, Trevor moved from his in-home workshop and into a facility in midtown Anchorage, where he could be free from distractions and pursue his talents in earnest. However, watching him work, you'll swear that he has been doing this his whole life. Travis is probably best known for his signature product, Lost Soul Pendants, but he also produces fine custom glass for the Cannabis connoisseur. One of his signature trademarks are over-sized carbs (10mm or bigger) that allow for a more intense draw.

His embrace of social media has helped him infiltrate the Lower 48, with over 100 headshops and dispensaries from Alaska to Maine currently carrying Cosmic Glass LLC.

Every garden has its own personality that's shaped by a multitude of factors – the attitudes of the ownership and the enthusiasm of the employees being the most important. Walking into Alaska Herb Garden from the February cold, there's a warmth that envelops you, and it isn't just from the temperature. It's the same feeling of happiness you get when visiting any of three dispensaries.

Looking for the perfect Friday night strain? Check out Grease Bucket from .farms 🌱
-
Grease Bucket has some rather famous parents – Garlic Cookies and Banana Punch – and their “opposite side of the olfactory tracks” relationship yields an indica-dominant hybrid with a seriously w**dy flavor. The massive buds are loosely packed but frostier than your ex’s heart. Rubbing the firm buds in our fingers, we immediately noticed the sweet scent of brown sugar momentarily cutting through the bitter diesel. The sharp flavor we were expecting never came as we took our first t**e. Instead, we were left with a fine coating of syrupy sweet sugar on our tongues.

A Humboldt County native, Naomi Hamb developed her love of Cannabis at a young age. By the time she was 18 years old, California was pioneering the medicinal Cannabis movement via the passage of Prop 215 – making it easy for Hamb to find employment in the industry trimming. She began supplementing her resume with work from both small-scale indoor grows and large outdoor gardens, where working in the California sun with organic materials ultimately stole her heart and influenced the growing style that she uses today as the lead cultivator at Top Hat Cannabis 🌱
