Welcome to the first edition of our new online literary magazine: Parboni by BHF.

We launch our magazine with a delightful short story that will take you back to the sights, smells, sounds, and, the food of a Biyebari of 1980s Kolkata. Complete with loudspeakers, festoons, tuni-bulbs, Rajanigandha flowers, and rows of diners seated at long tables anxiously waiting for food to be served on banana leaves. Parboni is a new digital magazine from Bengal Heritage Foundation (BHF). We believe that there are many stories from each of our lives that connect our roots in Bengal with our lives and experiences in Britain. By sharing these stories we can further out objective of building and strengthening the living bridge that connects Bengal and Britain.

BHF will collect, curate and publish posts in any of the following categories. The only criteria is that they relate to Bengal or Britain or both:

- Recipes or Articles on food
