Earlier this week, we released our holiday episode about having a trauma-informed holiday season. On that show, Christie said that she would share some affirmations that could be used to help frame your focus and care for yourself during this complicated time of the year.

Here is the list that she created for our listeners but we invite you to add your own holiday affirmations in the comments.

Holiday Affirmations:

I will celebrate my progress when I am confronted by memories of the past.

I will not hide my healing.

I will seek out spaces that I feel safe to be my full and authentic self.

I am not defined by the mistakes of my past or the future expectations of others.

I will value the work that I have done to get sober and I will seek to use healthier ways to cope with my emotions, stress, and memories.

Scorecards are a heavy load to carry, I will lay my down.

I will respond and not react when I am triggered or provoked.

It is okay to walk away and create space for perspective and processing.

I will leave room for restoration and healing in relationships.

I will search for the celebration each day.

I will be grounded in the reality of the future and not the reminders of the past.

I will not shrink myself to fit into spaces where I am not fully accepted.

I am a beautiful, bright light and I will not shade my shine.

I will gravitate to those who make me feel safe, welcomed, and loved.

I chose to face forward this holiday season.

I will look and listen for moments of meaning to be created and shared with others.

I will value myself more than others' opinions of me.

I have people in my life who see me and love me for who I am.

Episode 14 dropped this morning and it is another deep, critical conversation!!!! Please take time this week to listen and to share. Here is what we are talking about in this episode:

November is Homelessness Awareness Month and in honor of that, hosts Shurita Thomas-Tate and Christie Love are having an unfiltered conversation about the growing humanitarian crisis in their community of Springfield, MO.

Springfield, like many communities from coast to coast, are seeing more on more people without shelter as the weather begins to turn cold. This conversation touches on new federal relief money and how it should be stewarded, long-term changes that are needed, barriers to change, and the overall economic impact of leaving homelessness unaddressed in communities like theirs.

We hope that this episode will educate you about some of the realities of Springfield, MO while opening your eyes to the same struggles and issues in your own community.

Have you engaged with the Enneagram before?
Do you know what type you are?

In a comment, share with us how knowing your Enneagram type has helped you or tell us why you would like to learn more about it.

We will choose one comment this weekend to receive a copy of The Road Back To You- one of the great Enneagram resources.
