Save The Cranker ! So much Australian music & heavy metal history has happened here! The historic Crown & Anchor Hotel in Adelaide is threatened! It is in the hands of a foreign developer who plans to demolish to build 15 storey boxes intended for student accommodation. Only the historic facade will remain - which will be another soulless convenience store. They plan to rob the Adelaide community of this historic, public cultural space for short term profit that will not benefit the community and does not contribute to the long term quality of life of citizens. This pub dates to 1853 being one of the oldest pubs left in Adelaide CBD it has also been the home to generations of young (and old) punters and bands.
