The race for Congressional District 23 is not as set in stone with the incumbent fending off a far right challenger. I had the opportunity to sit with Democratic Nominee Santos Limon for US Congress TX-23 to talk about the prospect of that match up in November as well as many other topics. How many of you recall that that woke folks up a few months back? Weird right? What if I told you we would feel more and they're going to get stronger?

I know I haven't been around, but this race, the only State wide Exec position on the ballot this November, is too important. Luckily Bill Burch for TX Railroad Commissioner was available to come on and talk about the importance of this race and what we can do about those pesky earthquakes

I have been one to preach bi-partisanship to the distaste of some friends, and even I have begun to struggle to see that light. I asked Mark Gonzalez how he felt about it

One of the best things about the campaign cycle is the convos that happen between advocates and candidates that push progress forward.

During our convo, James Montoya for District Attorney references a convo with Borderland Rainbow Center director on making the DA's office more data driven to better serve the community, particularly those in the community that have been largely mis or not reported.

When it comes to the next for it seems "collaboration" tends to be a running theme - and also respect from the people they lead, an issue that plagued the last office and something my latest guest James Montoya for District Attorney aims to remedy

For better or worse, I'm dusting off the mic and sitting down with the candidates and elected officials impacting El Paso. A lot has gone on since we last spoke, but I'm excited to get back into it.

Special note. Upon getting the podcast republished, Spotify has reposted the entire back catalog of EPB episodes when I thought they were all removed(?)

So I didn't pay attention when going through the process and ended up prematurely removing The El Paso Beat.

I had just posted an episode titled "Epilogue" explaining the situation but that all went when I unsubscribed the podcast.

Here's the short version. I love you all dearly but I cannot find the time to commit to podcasting for the foreseeable future. I was hoping to be out of the current work situation I'm in, and until I am in a more comfortable place I will be focusing my spare time and energy on El Paso Young Democrats.

I'd like to thank those who followed, listened to, and supported. I can never express how grateful I am to you.

If you're interested in staying in touch, find me with the Young Dems.

See you on the next episode.

Your host,
Richard Genera
