Can you run your business without social media? I'd say... not really! At least, not very effectively.
Let's imagine a few different scenarios.
🟢 You're a newer business that's looking for new customers. Social media is a GREAT way for people to get to know you and what your business has to offer. Plus, it's a great way to connect with others. Most important? It shows that you're dedicated to your brand and passionate about sharing how you can help people.
⚪️ You're vacationing somewhere new and you want to find the best restaurants, activities, events, hotels, and more. Instagram and TikTok often offer the BEST insight into what those places offer, because they're visual, straight to the point, and easy to navigate. I've definitely started to rely more and more on social media to plan my vacations!
🟢 You're a well-established business, but your social media channels are lacking. What does that portray to competitors, and even more, what does that portray to future customers? If you've been around for a long time and you don't have any (good) social media, it might seem like you're an outdated company that may not work the most efficiently.
These are just a few real-life examples of how your social media presence can largely alter customer perception towards your business.
Even more, Forbes says that businesses with little-to-no social media presence are seen as less accountable, less trustworthy, and less credible 🫣 Who wants that?
So, keep this in mind whenever you question whether or not your business needs social media – I'd STRONGLY recommend it!
