Cultural programme Meeras organised by SKLCWS in Collaboration With JKAACL at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.
Srinagar,2 December 2023: Shahr e Khaas Literary & Cultural Welfare Society in Collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Art Culture And Languages & Angel’s Cultural Academy conducted a one day grand cultural programme “MEERAS.”
The youth Cultural Event was held at Tagore Hall with an aim to encourage youth towards Kashmiri culture and arouse their passion to protect it and inspire more people towards it's beauty. A large number of youth participated in the event with full of zeal and zest.Many segments were presented to people which includes Folk songs, Drama, ladishah, Mimicry, Sufi Songs, Rouff and Folk Dance etc, presented by the participants. Students from different schools participated who waited all day in auditorium in a chilling cold for an opportunity to get a chance to speak on about to extinct kashmiri culture. They belonged to Radiant public school, Alamdar Memorial Institute Chawalgam Kulgam, Spring Buds Educational Institute Ompora Budgam,New Career Convent School Habba Kadal Srinagar & PG Girls Hostel Bemina Srinagar.The students of Spring buds school ompora enthralled on the stage after highlighting kangir, samavar and other diffrent stuffs belonging to Kashmiri culture.They depicted the daily chores of Kashmir and made people realise how beautiful it would had been appeared before the introduction of western culture which has done a huge damage to our ethic culture, have left very few kashmiri speakers and handful number of people to practice kashmiri culture, unfortunately.The grand daughter and grandson of renowned poet Shad Ramzan Syed Bakhtawar Shah and Syed Hoor shah both threw light on the same topic, Syed Bakhtawar Shah amazed people when letting them about the touch of important personalities with kashmir including the father of ayurveda Patanjali, he also claimed that kashmiri culture is older than harappa and indus valley civilization,Syed Hoor Shah expressed the beauty of being kashmiri citizen and said we should be proud of it.Kalaam e raheem sahab was beautifully performed by Affan Firdous and his party.Gojri performance was also performed by the students of PG Girls hostel bemina Srinagar though the language was not easily understood by audience but the students were appreciated for showcasing their performance, it makes us realise how much beautiful and colourful is our kashmiri culture. Peaceful Musical Group Srinagar, Shahnai Group from kulgam and Lotus Cultural Group also left an impression over the minds of the audience with their stunning performance. Artists from Angel's cultural academy also performed on stage.They played a skit in which they showed how westernization has effected youth and made them to become heedless towards their ethnic culture and language and raised a request to youth to nook and corner of Kashmir to come back to their culture and feel proud of practicing it.GM Bujjal, Sabzar Shiekh,Tabasum Rehman,Mr.Sahil Bashir,Arsalan Yousuf and Mr.Tariq Ahmad Shera also performed on stage, they intended to show how kashmiri culture is mocked nowadays by youth who are utterly inclined to Western culture be it language or a way of dressing and they handfoldedly requested youth and called them back to it.They suggested schools should play an important role in promoting culture by engaging their students in different activities related to the kashmiri culture .The audience was delighted with the performances and were thankful to the organisers for organising such a vibrant program and asked to engage more youth in such programs and continue to organise such fruitful programs in future because it is high need of time.An urge is felt to organise such programs because most of youth are impressed by western culture who are unaware of the beauty of their own culture. Meanwhile,Khawaja Farooq Renzu Shah was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr Farooq Anwar Mirza, Firdous Ahmad Dar (Owner of DFA Builders & Royah-The Bridal Store), Dr.Syed Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr.Mohammad Rafeeq Khan, Ajaz ul Ramzan & other dignitaries were also present on the occasion as Special Guests, they appreciated Mr.Tariq Ahmad shera for staying steadfast on the way of promoting the kashmiri culture by every possible means and inclining more and more youth in it.This program was hosted by Best Motivational Speaker Junaid ul Islam. A large number of eminent artists and other persons from Kashmir also graced the occasion.
