There is nowhere you can go to get concepts and notions that allow you to build an enviable brain architecture. We must learn to choose the most fruitful experiences and to squeeze "salient" content from them. At that point, we will have enough material to invent, fabricate, and create mature, grounded thoughts and construct the best version of our Self. Beliefs and memories are nothing without the signature of those who produce them.
If you import multiple branded or trendy opinions and superimpose them on your thought processes, you get thoughts that have already been circulating wildly for too long. Do you really want to have a brain filled with worn-out rag-thoughts?

Most people do not understand Parmenides because they don't look at it from the correct perspective. Not only did he pre-conceptualize the scientific method and the string theory, but he ripped apart the nervous system and uncovered the tricks that allowed Homo sapiens to become Caput Universi.
Today, thanks to scientific research, we know that the brain employs beliefs to use its very advanced cognitive processes and creates the illusion of a mind.
