The business name is a play on words (my favorite!) with the social media term "reach", and it also encompasses the most important message I give to local businesses. I'm excited about what's coming next!

2020 threw my business a few curve balls this first year, but I'm proud of the progress we've made at Games Unplugged!
Besides increasing foot traffic and followers on Facebook...

✅ The crew is more comfortable with being featured on social media. (Which they should be, because they're awesome!)

✅ We're accomplishing our goal of helping the store become more social by establishing our online presence and building the feel of a local gaming community through our page.

✅ We wanted more people to feel welcome using the space for games and spending time with friends, and those numbers are growing.

✅ We are seeing that online interactions are generating live participation in the store with sales, events, tournaments, and community involvement.

I am looking forward to what our second year will bring!

Big companies are going bankrupt at a record pace, but that’s only part of the carnage. By some accounts, small businesses are disappearing by the thousands amid the Covid-19 pandemic, and the drag on the economy from these failures could be huge.

A Little About Me

Our family has lived in Midlothian for about 2 years now. We love the community involvement, our neighborhood is a great place for our kids to grow up, and our church family, shout-out to MBC, is where we found love, friendship, and a wonderful place to worship. I stay home with our two boys, and my husband works as an operator at a power plant.

Before deciding to stay home, I worked for Deloitte, a consulting firm in Dallas. Deloitte gave me the unique opportunity to explore my administrative role, and I took on many exciting projects for my team that helped with the company brand refresh. It was during this time that I discovered a love for finding creative and informative ways to showcase company promotions, programs, and events for employees and clients.

Now that we’re settled in our home, we’ve begun frequenting some of the local businesses. Midlothian has some of the nicest, most accommodating business owners you’ll meet, who have great things to offer. Shops just waiting to be discovered by the outside world. Sometimes we find them on social media. Sometimes they aren’t on social media, but are loved so much that we hear about them from friends and neighbors. Running a business is no small feat, and there are days when updates and pictures have to be put on the back burner. I’m excited to use my talents to help shine the light on what our local business owners have worked so hard to build. Let’s show the online world our hometown excellence.
