Many of you ask me whether changing/installing aftermarket horn is illegal as per government rulings? or What are the Government guidelines regarding horns?

Note: I don't promote unnecessary use of horn or horn abuse.

But as per CENTRAL MOTOR VEHICLES RULES, 1989,
Provided that vehicles manufactured on and from 1st October, 2014, the horn installation
requirements for motor vehicles shall be as per IS: 15796-2008, specified by the Bureau of Indian Standards, as amended from time to time.

And IS 15796-2008: AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLES - HORN INSTALLATION
REQUIREMENTS says,

Maximum sound pressure level when determined in accordance with method of test given in 6.2, shall meet the following:
i) Between 83 dB (A) to 112 dB (A) for horns fitted on 2 wheelers or 3 wheelers of a power less than or equal to 7 kW, and
ii) Between 93 dB (A) to 112 dB (A) for the horn fitted on all other motor vehicles including tractor, 2 wheelers and 3 wheelers of a power greater than 7 kW

On your popular demand, here is Osram 50watt LED bulb. Today I installed them by replacing my stock osram halogen 55 watt bulbs. Initial impression is quite good I would say but before making a video on them, I will test them for a few days to give you a better idea as these bulbs are expensive.
