🚨🚨🚨Episode 5 is live! Y'all don't know what a free Black woman looks like 😍😎 Listen now: https://spoti.fi/3hmiUjI For real, I want all Black women to tune in today. This week, I'm joined and blessed by writer, speaker and disruptor Jodi-Ann Burey who is rewriting the rules for Black women at work. We have conversation on the homogeny of diversity, equity and inclusion workplace statements, surviving cancer and releasing emotional martydom as a Black woman healing from working in toxic environments. When I tell you I needed to hear this, I am saying, doing something good for you today and tune into this episode. Her vulnerability in sharing her own healing journey, her advice for women of color, her very existence is revolutionary. Do you remember a time where all the stories you were being told were painting a reality that was not yours? No time like a long holiday weekend to catch up on this week's episode (link in bio). It's stories like Aryn's ( @play.scapes ) that inspired me to start this pod. The inaugural episode of That's No Longer My Ministry is live! 😍🤗💃 https://spoti.fi/3cKcxEb The first episode, "Have you tried this new restaurant called Therapy," means a lot to me for so many reasons. Let me name them: 1) I recorded with one of my new Bay Area found besties, Foram Mehta, a first-generation Indian-American journalist who just started therapy 6 months ago and has seen a HUGE transformation in thought, movement and her healing journey. 2) One of my inspirations for starting this pod came from this idea that we aren't supposed to be mind readers about others' feelings. That's #NoLongerMyMinistry. And Foram speaks to her conscious decision to no longer carry the burden of other's feelings, something an Indian woman, friend and wife is often socialized to do. 3) I want to hear more stories on the unique experience of being children of immigrants, something both me and Foram are. So I recorded this episode. Let this be a sign you need to reconnect with therapy or try it for the first time ever! Take it from Foram, it's the best new restaurant in town. <3 <3 <3 Subscribe where you listen to podcasts and share it with your friends! This podcast is a labor of love.
