I couldn’t stand out as a designer.

I was an introvert.

I was moving cities every year on average.

And I had no consistent clients.

Chasing the dream of making a living as a graphic designer.

5 years into the journey I landed a job with the largest licensed sports retailer in the world.

I had made it! Or so I thought...

I quickly learned that larger ≠ better.

So I started the search again.

This time jumping between smaller agencies.

All while continuing to build my freelance business on the side.

And by putting together pieces from each step along the journey...

I was able to hit my first $100k year freelancing at age 30.

Overnight success is a myth.

It comes from putting in the work over days, months, and years.

Chipping away until the pieces start to click into place.

Stay the course.

- Stack on top of each other
- Provide you a platform to provide value

Start by making something you enjoy for someone who needs it.

Start by making something you enjoy for someone.

Start by making something you enjoy.

Start by making something.

Start by making.

Start.

6 questions I ask when creating new designs:

1. Does this solve the initial brief?
2. Is the output a unique viewpoint?
3. Is it easy to understand?
4. Does it create a conversation?
5. Would I have stopped to look at this?
6. Does this teach, entertain, or challenge?

The more you say "yes" the better the design.
