Vendors needed for craft/vendor fair:

Jeff's Camp, a nonprofit assisting veterans in the Barnegat area, is hosting its craft and vendor fair on May 20 at 308 Route 72, Barnegat. The event will take place 9 am to 2 pm. As part of the event, a raffle will be drawn. Please reach out to inquire as a vendor or to buy a raffle ticket.

The New Jersey Global War on Terrorism Medal is New Jersey’s newest service medal. It is awarded to Servicemembers or Veterans who served in the following operations: Enduring Freedom; Noble Eagle; Iraqi Freedom; Nomad Shadow; New Dawn; Inherent Resolve; Freedom’s Sentinel, and Odyssey Lightning.

This evening at the Jersey Shore BlueClaws they had a moment in between innings where they asked everyone who served in the Armed Forces to please stand so we could all applaud them. Virtually everyone was shown on camera except for this young lady. I was very disappointed as she was the only female who stood amongst all of the men, and as it happened they missed her.

But I didn’t miss her. I was determined that before the end of the night I was going to introduce myself and highlight her on this page. Please give a hand for Maryellen K, aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force from 1977-1999. She is now comfortably retired here at the shore. Thank you for your service Maryellen! (With Shannon Elizabeth and Maryellen Donna)
