Happy birthday, TDS! It's been 4 great years. We've published hundreds of stories, poetry, and art, and we're so proud of all the authors we've uplifted. Such a fantastic ride!

And we can't think of a better time then to now... take a break. That's right! TDS is going on hiatus. There's not been a date set for when/if we'll return. All of this comes from not having enough time in a day to keep TDS going while other outside responsibilities compete for our attention. It was a painful decision, but, one that was needed to free up some time for other important ventures to take flight.

TDS will always be #1 in our hearts! It created a lot of opportunities for so many people, including the staff who got to work with so many talented people. To all the TDS family out there, keep shining your light. You'll always have TDS to call home!

These in-house bookmarks were designed by Bre and hand cut.

"I focused on what would make the cover art pop while accentuating its color palette. Then, I enhanced the text font style and size to create a downward focal point. I really enjoyed creating these bookmarks!"

The Dark Sire Showcases Creative Writing in Eerie and Peculiar Genres

The Dark Sire is a quarterly online and paperback magazine that explores speculative fiction works for enthusiasts of gothic, horror, fantasy and psychological realism in short fiction, poetry, and art.

The mission of The Dark Sire is to give a voice to the voiceless by supporting all dark creatives (emerging and established) and their works, with an emphasis on publishing fiction, poetry, and art that have had difficulty finding a publisher. Unlike other magazines that ban slasher, faux pas issues, and Christian themes, TDS welcomes these types of submissions with high consideration.
