It has been nearly a decade since I played retail WoW... never expected to go back, if I'm being completely honest. I've spent the last several years playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, many different WoW private servers, and dozens upon dozens of other games from mobile to PC and PlayStation, and after a decade I've returned to the Retirement Village on Area 52 in retail. It is... something. I'm still getting used to all of the changes since I last played, and though many of them are quite minor, they add to the newness of my favorite old game.

Shadowlands so far sucks. It's just plain and simple. I've only leveled to 57 and hope to hit 60 sometime this weekend or early next week, but so far the story and zones aren't grabbing me like any previous expansion I've played. I really hope that Dragonflight is different, and I'm looking forward to the many changes they've made for Dragonflight.

At the moment, I'm also downloading the Wrath of the Lich King Classic patch, and I'm going to see what that's all about. Just finishing up a year and a half stint in Project Ascension, I'm happy to play Wrath content vs. Burning Crusade, and I LOVE TBC. It might be nice to see who I can connect with in Wrath and spend some time running dungeons and raids.

Retirement Village is once again taking a break from Ascension while the devs continue to work on new continent. We will be raiding on a Mists of Pandaria server called Mistblade in the near future. In case you hadn't heard, Project Ascension: Classless WoW has been running since 2016, has more than a million players registered, offers a variety of ways to play, and is INCREDIBLY well done.

The game offers a unique "classless" take on World of Warcraft using the popular 3.3.5 client version, also known widely as Wrath of the Lich King. However, content is only completed through T5 at the moment on Area 52.

There is no shortage of players in Ascension! Players from all over the world, and guilds for everyone can be found on Ascension servers.

Our guild, Retirement Village is on Area 52 and clearing all Flex Normal T4/T5 Raid content each week. We frequently run Heroic, Mythic and Mythic+ dungeons to gear up fresh level 70s, and spend a lot of time in discord getting to know each other.
