2024…what a year! From new friendships to a new home on the water, it was unforgettable to say the least! Thanks to everyone who made this year so special! 🥂 ✨

January - returning back to St. Martin just in time to ring in the start of an adventurous year of change 🎆

February - enjoying our time in the Caribbean with the best people 💛

March - returning back to the Bahamas to enjoy boat life simplicities off grid 🇧🇸

April - spent lots of time on sandy beaches, thought we’d take up Acro and found remnants of the swing we built in our first year of cruising 🤸‍♀️

May - spending time in Florida with good people, nervously leaving J1 for the first time and flying out to check out potential J2 ✈️

June - a month of mixed emotions with our last sail on J1 before saying our goodbyes, moving out and flying to Panama to transition into our new home and new chapter 🇵🇦

July - getting adjusted to life in Panama with a new boat, new friends and releasing Steph’s cookbook 📖

August - the most past due of overdue things finally happened 💍♥️ before we left Panama on our first passage on J2. We figured a shakedown sail from Panama to the states in the height of hurricane season would prove whether she was the badass beast we hoped she’d be🫣

September - completed part 2 of our shakedown sail from Florida to Virginia, excited to move in all our belongings and where the boat work began to get her off-grid ready and more of our own 🛠️

October - made a trip back to Canada and to the Annapolis Boat Show where we had the opportunity to spend time with all those especially important to us 🫶🏻

November - completing a bottom job on J2 and enjoying the last little bit of land life conveniences while at the dock

December - eagerly standing by monitoring weather windows before finally heading off for our third passage on J2 marking the official start of our first cruising season on her! ⛵️

🥂 to a new year, new memories and adventures ahead! Happy New Year everyone! 🥳

Fresh paint and ready to go! 🌊
Our last minute decision to haul out before it got too chilly was a good one. Got more than we bargained for (as to be expected) and made some interesting discoveries.
Overall, it went smoother than our first time antifouling despite the differences we noticed between working a fibreglass hull (our first boat) and an aluminum one.
For starters, we realized that the welds were not reachable by sander and took extra work to remove all the old paint. Also, our hull is not completely smooth which meant we had to go over areas in multiple directions when sanding and painting which gave us double the arm pump 💪🏼
What made it easier this time around was the comfortable temperature🍂, lack of insanely hungry mosquitos and noseeums (though there still were some), we knew that one single 9” roller cover wasn’t going to cut it and we didn’t didn’t have to paint the entire boat in the middle of the night with 4” rollers 🤏🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And no, we don’t plan to ever paint the freeboard🙃

Because everything’s gotta serve at least two functions onboard🥳 Our fenders really are the lightest ever!😅

Yesterday we celebrated a birthday while wishing we were cruising instead of suffering from a case of dock itch (we’re allllllmost there!!) but I’m beyond grateful for another memorable year and excited for what the next lap has in store✨

After a 1,300 NM sail from Panama, it’s time to make our rounds in Fort Lauderdale but it’s going to entail more effort than what we’ve been used to. No dinghy outboard, a single oar and a lot of heavy boating equipment needs to make it from inland…onboard, all while at anchor. Tune in for a fresh episode to see all the behind the scenes of what we do to make things out here!

We take you behind the scenes to show the logistics and daily hurdles we face while living off-grid on the water. We show the challenges in getting ashore wi...

Huge thanks to our Patrons Anthony and Michelle and Mississauga Sailing Club for the perfect venue. We feel so loved and we can’t wait for the next one!

🇨🇦 We’ve been dedicating our time to family and friends while in Toronto for a brief stay so there won’t be a new episode tomorrow.

🇺🇸 See you in Annapolis in a few days!!
We have a Patron Meet Up scheduled on Saturday (details up on Patreon) and will be at the Cruisers Creating Content Booth at the following times:

Thursday Oct 10: 4-5pm
