In Australia you support your mates. That is an unwritten rule that helps keeps the (sometimes) thin veneer of your life force in tact. Having a far go, or receiving a fair go, that's pretty Aussie as well.
$390 was the fine Khalen copped for helping out a mate when he was asked and when I spoke to him I said that of course you have to expect a little blow back when we voice our opinions on the BB&B podcast. But we're big enough, old enough and especially ugly enough to take it on the chin.
BUT..... let's make something positive happen as a result I said to him, let's ask the Aussie BMX community to chip in and pay this for you AND then chuck every extra dollar in the Launceston BMX Club's account as a massive thank you for hosting a incredible national championships.
So you good people, I personally ask you to dip into your own pocket and support Aussie BMX, and of course, KY could of just paid this fine and got on with life, but we thought we could do more.
We've set a lofty goal of $2k and we might end up looking completely stupid, but you don't get anywhere in life if you aren't willing to take a risk.
PS. If you know Luke (pictured here with Khalen), shoot him a message as he's a little busted up. Ask him who was there to help him as well.
More men have walked on the moon than have represented Australian BMX racin… Bruce Morris needs your support for Free KY and Support the Launceston BMX Club.
