Our definition of success shouldn’t be fixed — it should be flexible as our priorities shift throughout our lives.

We change as humans, and it’s more than ok for our career expectations to change, too.

This.👇 This is why the stories shared by the women of Raze to Rise are so powerful.

A new survey of 5,000 women by Deloitte Global found that more than 50% plan to quit their jobs within 2 years.

Only 10% plan to be with their current employer more than five years.

Women know they deserve better at work, and I’m SO incredibly proud of our women sharing their stories, voting with their feet, and championing this call for change!

Powerful mindshift shifts for us as working women from .loder

Swipe ⏩ to see a few of the shifts I invite you to make when in an over-achieving or perfectionist mindset!

It can be difficult to break away from the belief system that you have to be "on" 24/7 and be the best possible worker, wife, mother, friend, sister, daughter, etc. all the time.

When I worked in private equity, I sat on the board of a skincare company. Years later, when I began offering leadership development sessions, the CEO hired me to work with his team. After my keynote presentation, I asked him conversationally what he saw as the biggest barriers for women leaders within his organization. Using one particular executive as an example, he said that female employees tend to run themselves ragged, which isn’t sustainable, especially once kids are in the picture. “I told her to work less hard,” he said. “Frankly, her B- quality work is the equivalent of an A from any of the other sales managers, but she is having a hard time letting herself do 80 percent.”

She is not alone.

For example, many women who work “part-time” actually work full-time hours but are only partially compensated because they’re not fierce with their boundaries. (Reminder: this is not your fault! Women have been conditioned to take care of everyone but ourselves) You have to be okay not giving your all to everything that crosses your desk if you want to keep your sanity intact.

As women, one of the ways we can empower ourselves is to stop taking responsibility for everyone else’s problems.

We are not the fixers of the world.

If you give too much of yourself, you’ll burn out. And then the world won’t benefit from your bright light. ✨

Newly promoted Aubrey Blair wanted to be thrilled.

Six months into her new job in South Florida, Aubrey's beloved boss had just put in her two weeks' notice, and less than 24 hours later, Aubrey was told she was being promoted to fill her boss' shoes.

But Aubrey couldn't shake a trepidatious feeling that this hasty power move to promote her without even asking if she wanted the job was a harbinger of things to come.

Soon, Aubrey found herself walking on eggshells and on-call nearly 24/7, as she felt constant escalating pressure to prove herself.

The anxiety and stress she fought so hard to quell back when she began her health and wellness journey in late 2020 returned with a vengeance.

Aubrey knew what she had to do – even if that meant paying back tens of thousands of dollars in relocation expenses.

Part 2 of "Protecting Well-Being At All Costs" concludes today (link in bio).

A friendly reminder for anyone who needs it today — you are *worthy* of rest.❤️

When the pandemic hit, Aubrey Blair and her family, like millions of others, were catapulted into a new normal of school shutdowns, online learning, Covid quarantines, isolation from friends and family, and a shift to 100 percent remote work.

Navigating the constant uncertainty, incessant changes in Covid guidance, and shifting work priorities eventually took its toll, and Aubrey found herself over-consuming food and alcohol as comfort from the growing anxiety and stress.

Nine months in, with the pandemic showing no end in sight, Aubrey realized she was not showing up the way she wanted to for her two children and husband.

So, in December 2020, she joined , learned how to change her habits, and started exercising again.

Six months later, 30 pounds lighter and more committed than ever to her health and well-being, she decided she was ready for a new challenge in her career, as well.

A new job with full relocation assistance brought her to South Florida, but she soon realized that the red flags she'd noticed during the interview process were foreshadowing larger issues to come.

Part 1 of "Protecting Well-Being At All Costs" is live today (link in comments) with part 2 coming Thursday.

Our hearts are so full after an amazing first week.❤️ Thank you all so much! This is just the beginning.✨

If you were to ask me what's been the most impactful work of my career to date, I would tell you, unequivocally, it's this passion project that just launched this morning.❤️

When I left my job in January, I was planning to lean into a writing project exploring women and burnout, but something nudged me to think 𝐁𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑.

Greater impact.

More voices.

More stories.

It dawned on me that, when I was grappling with whether to stay or walk away from my job (twice!), it was the rich conversations I had with other women and their brilliant wisdom that inspired me to tune back into my own heart to make the best decisions for me.

So, today, I am beyond excited to share the official launch of our call for stories at 𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞, a journalism project sharing heartfelt personal stories from the women of the Great Resignation.

Our goal is undoubtedly ambitious...

𝐓𝐨 𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬.

Stories can be shared four different ways on our website RazetoRise.com.

Creating safe, empowering spaces for women to speak about their experiences is at the cornerstone of our work, so stories can be shared under your name or anonymously.

Given this lofty goal, if you can help us by spreading the word with your network and / or sharing this post, we would be beyond grateful.🙏

Thank you in advance for your support! Here's to amplifying powerful voices of women from the Great Resignation.

Another day, another mind-numbing Great Resignation statistic.😵‍💫

4.4 million more American workers quit their jobs in February according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' latest report released yesterday.

But what if, instead of only seeing one-dimensional data, we chose to see the unique pieces that compose this economic puzzle??🧩

4.4 million deeply personal, multifaceted stories.📕

And 4.4 million electric moments of individuals stepping into their power, choosing themselves, and walking away from jobs, cultures and teams that no longer serve them.⚡️

Now *that's* powerful.💥

This is not a post I ever expected to write.

Back in January, I became a proud 𝐭𝐰𝐨-𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Yes, that’s right…*𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝*.

Here’s why👇

The Great Resignation is far more than an economic and cultural phenomenon marked by mass burnout and a record number of workers quitting jobs in search of greater opportunity.

Its roots run much deeper.

It’s a 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

A 𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐫𝐲.

A 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – of ourselves, our needs, and our worth as unique individuals with both personal and professional lives that we shouldn’t have to keep immaculately compartmentalized.

Because the experience of being a working professional – hallmarked by the myriad responsibilities, pressures and expectations heaped onto us by modern life – isn’t always neat.

It’s chaotic, gritty and far from perfect.

But 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥.

And no matter how doggedly we try, the messiness of our humanity doesn’t stop just because we’re on the clock.

As we move into this next wave of the Great Resignation, we must shift focus from endless statistics and ineffectual conversations dripping in cloying platitudes about employee perks and superficial fixes.

That’s the workplace equivalent of a doctor treating pain caused by a broken bone without taking time or thoughtful care to reset the fracture so it can properly heal.

Instead, let’s focus on meaningful action.

It’s time to 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜, 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬.

I’m fiercely proud to be in the company of millions of workers championing this desperately needed sea change by voting with their feet.

Yes, even twice.✌️

Stay tuned for our official launch coming this Thursday!
