Intramurals 2022: A Display of Faith, Service and Excellence
Saint Maryโs Academy of Jasaan Inc. (SMAJ) commenced the much anticipated Intramurals on October 26, 2022 at the Radiant Shell of Jasaan with the theme โTransformative Ignacian Marian: Empowering Youth the Synodal Wayโ.
Under the guidance of Sister Ma. Hedelita D. Bagatua, RVM, the event began with the Living Rosary, in which the parents and students served as the beads of the rosary. The SMAJ Drum and Lyre Corp led the around the town parade.
Ms. Lyla Ventianne Edurot, Sports Club President, delivered her welcome message, โMay the spirit of sportsmanship reign in every player's heart. May winning be our driving force and goal, just do your best and donโt forget to have fun.โ
The athletes who have competed at the national level, Zandrew Khalil Anothy P. Zayas, Clark Valdezamo, Patricia Louise B. Rivera, Jake Rollen S. Tamayo, Marjorie Balangiao, and Aloysios Augustus C. Valmores, led the lighting of the athletic urn while, Marjorie Balangiao, the Supreme Student Government (SSG) President led the oath of amateurism.
The schoolโs principal, Sister Ma. Virginia V. Adubal, RVM, declared the opening of Intramurals 2022. She also extended her sincerest gratitude to everyone who contributed time and effort in making the event possible.
The preliminary competition for Mr. and Ms. SMA 2022 took place on the first day of intramurals; the Galaw Pilipinas (Field Demo) and the Bench Yell from the various departments, beginning with the Grade 7 department, The Valorous Pawns, followed by the Grade 8 department, The Ethereal Rook, the Grade 9 department, The Noble Knights, and finally the Grade 10 department, The Celestial Bishops were presented after Ms. Liza Virtudazo introduced the judges and provided the criteria. Following that, the first game of the day began with the ball games, starting with the basketball competition, the volleyball competition womenโs division and the badminton competition.
Spearheaded by the Sports Club moderator Mr. Aldren Amor together with the Youth for Environment in Schools (YES) Club moderator, Ms. Charlene Mabanta, the event went successful as every Ignacian Marian student actively cooperated and participated.
