It’s Not Goodbye, It’s Au Revoir

We have some big news.

The current issue of Wayfinder—the one with the awesome green cover—will be the last.

Well… Sort of.

Wayfinder is merging with West of 105, a lifestyle product that covers Colorado west of Denver. Both are part of the same media family—Meridian 105 Media—but as West of 105 includes the Uncompahgre Valley, it’s for the greater good to bring them together.

The awesome content created by and about people, businesses and life in the Uncompahgre Valley for Wayfinder over the last two years will migrate over to West of 105, and we will continue to produce the same quality of content moving forward. In fact, we have already started migrating and publishing new content on Westof105.com including John Wagner’s story on the firefighting helitack crew based in Montrose.

This page will eventually be removed, but that won’t happen for a while. However, we encourage you to follow West of 105 on Facebook and Instagram () and to sign up to the West of 105 newsletter (link at the bottom). We’ll be giving away gear and tickets to events there, in addition to sharing more about what an awesome state Colorado is.

Thank you for all supporting Wayfinder over the last couple of years, and we hope you’ll join us as we evolve and grow with West of 105.

From tomorrow, Aspen will turn into a festival of gastronomic gluttony and bacchanalian revelry when the Food & Wine Classic kicks off. There are a few events that are both free and first come, first served including a panel with current and former NBA superstars that also happen to be winemakers.

Today we celebrate Montrose's Birthday 🎂
Montrose was incorporated on May 2, 1882! Here are some fun facts about our city:

- Montrose was named after the novel "A Legend of Montrose" written by Walter Scott and published in 1819.
-The town had several other nick names before the final name of Montrose was chosen. These other names were Pomona, Dad's Town and Uncompahgre Town.
- Montrose is home to the beautiful Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, established in 1999
- Montrose was initially founded as a supplies hub for nearby mining communities.

Visit the Ute Indian Museum, Museum of the Mountain West, Montrose County Historical Museum, or partake in the Historic Downtown Walking Tour (https://www.cityofmontrose.org/199/History) to celebrate Montrose!

Wayfinder magazine has partnered with Montrose Animal Shelter to aid the adoption process for dogs and cats (and the occasional rabbit, guinea pig and whatever else comes through their doors).

The idea is generally to help the shelter find homes for otherwise hard to adopt pets, usually older pets or pets that are on their final path towards the rainbow bridge.

We may have mentioned once or twice that Wayfinder can now be found onboard Telluride Express shuttles between Montrose and Telluride!

Well, the awesome Jacob at Telluride Express sent us some photos of copies of Wayfinder going on a little trip!

We imagine this is exactly what it's like to see your kid going off to school on the bus on their own for the first time.

Telluride Express is part of CO West Transportation which offers shared and private ground transportation services between Denver and pretty much all points west!
