Everyone lives a life called pop-up Life —suddenly thrown into this world, facing unexpected fates, caught up in sudden waves, and left with the lingering question after everything is gone: “What’s true for you?” But even if the underlying tone of life is full of struggles, there is still light in our eyes, because on the other side of hope is clearly written: Build! Anyway.
The creation of pop-up Life was inspired by the movie To Live and symbolizes destruction and rebirth, making it a fitting conclusion to this phase of the remix project. Mola Oddity invited French musician Duñe to join the journey. From their mutual trust, Duñe felt a strong sense of creative freedom and a desire for challenge. He set aside his previous heartfelt, dreamy R&B production and instead fully pressed the accelerator with a Drum ‘n’ Bass tempo of 160bpm, diving into the whirlpool of life.
The fleeting nature of life is compressed into the beams of vibrating synthesizers, and the bouncing melodic lines reflect the accelerated passage of time. Birdy K, with both irony and clarity as companions, delivers a rhythmically rich English monologue, boldly arguing against the helplessness of reality. Once again, Mola Oddity reminds us to first accept that life is perpetually in a state of exception, then wake up from numbness and try to let life burn brightly.
