ALWAYS WILL (SHAUNA & DIONNE) ❤️
Have you ever had someone touch your soul with little to no effort? I mean... Actually feeling their presence when they aren't even there. You could smell them, taste them, hear them whisper your name. You could even feel them and they could be clear across town. It could be for long lengths of time that you don't speak and the mere thought would ironically connect the two of you.
This is what Dionne did for me... It never mattered how long it had been since we spoke. No matter what I was doing, who I was doing, nor where I was when she called... I had to go to her. There had never been any other way. I dropped it all and ran to her side and I didn't care if she was at war when I got there I just needed to lay eyes on her and I was down for whatever she wanted to do. I guess we were just connected like that.
That's why tonight was no different. We hadn't spoken in years and now... She'd called. As a matter of fact, she and I hadn't spoken since the night before my wedding. I had just began to unwind from my Bachelorette party and I got a call from her. She asked me if this was truly what I wanted to do. My reply after a few minutes of silence... Was, "yes."
Now here I was sneaking out of my cozy bed. My wife didn't move an inch as I tip-toed out of the room. I threw water on my face, brushed my teeth, slipped on some jeans, a t-shirt, some shoes that I was able to just slide into and my jacket. Placing my phone into my back pocket, along with my bank car and license, I grabbed my keys and left.
I knew that the house alarm would sound announcing that I was leaving through the front door. I didn't care if the door slammed as I left. My car would make sooo much noise when it cranked and still none of those things mattered to me. The only thing that mattered was that she'd called and I was on my way.
During the drive to her place the brief conversation that we'd just had replayed in my head.
"Where are you?"
"I... Hello..." I'd almost answered before the sound of that voice hit my heart.
"Where are you," looking at the phone in shock because I truly couldn't believe what the ID had read and what was more shocking is that I'd awakened at the exact moment that she was calling without even knowing that the phone had been ringing. Her contact had been silenced the night of my wedding. I probably should have just erased it, or maybe blocked it, but I just couldn't bring myself to do that.
I got out of the bed and rushed to the bathroom. My wife was asleep and I didn't want to alarm her, but I felt that there was a reason that I'd awakened just as the phone began to light up. I remembered feel as if something were tugging at my soul earlier that day. It wasn't unpleasant at all and actually made me feel blissful and free. As if I were walking on a cloud the entire day and I knew that this feeling only happened for one reason, but I had just not been willing to believe it.
"What's up," was all that I could say at the moment. She always made me feel like a young teenage girl.
"Where are you Shauna?"
"I'm home... It's 2 o' clock in the mornin..."
"I'm back at the old spot... Same exact place..."
"Wow. You're right around the corner from me again," I said with a smile. We'd made so many good memories in that apartment.
"Can I see you?"
"With you being around the corner I'm sure we'll bump into one another."
"Shauna... Can I see you," Dionne repeated those words again. I knew what she was getting at, but I was now a married woman. I knew what she was asking of me and I knew that she wasn't taking no for an answer. I took a deep breathe and exhaled into the phone. It wasn't aggravation, but that tugging feeling had come over me again.
It felt like we hadn't missed a beat in talking. She always managed to come around and pull me in all over again. The funny thing about it was... I wasn't even mad. I was excited, but couldn't show just how much because again I had a wife, who was sleeping and it was two in the morning. I also had work in the morning, but I didn't care about that at all.
"Get yourself together... I'll see you in a minute," that was the last thing that she'd said to me and now I was in my car, creeping slowly towards her building.
I got out of the car. I could see a faint light coming from her bedroom window. I knew that it was the light from a candle. As I climbed the stairs and got closer to her door I could hear music. She was playing "Submerge" by Maxwell. It was a tune that had lit a fire inside of her the first time that I'd played it.
I knocked, not at all surprised that she heard my knock over the loud music. She was always so aware of her surroundings. Something as simple as her being aware shouldn't have been, but was sexy as hell to me. Honestly, everything about her was.
She opened the door wide and stood there slowly looking me up and down and then she took that same deep breath and exhale that I'd taken on the phone earlier.
"Hey Shauna."
"Hey you...”
So... That’s all I’m sharing right now. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Let me know if you’d like the rest of this story. Just a sexy lil one shot... I truly enjoyed writing the entire piece. 😘✌🏾
