I recently left my official staff position at our church to focus on training to be a Spiritual Director. The next step in that faithfulness means that right now I’m working on a certificate in Spiritual Direction with Children. I’m excited to have my first official session with a child outside my household today! -If you want to know more and/or think your child would benefit from a “listening friend” who, as my friend Julie Smith says “helps you find God’s fingerprint on every part of your life”- PM me and we can talk.

As a white Christian I have to face that systematic racism has been given safe haven in the Church at large. I confess, that (whether it was my “fault” or not) in myself I have an instinctive bias to not give the spirituality of my black brothers and sisters the same weight as my white brothers and sisters. I say- “no more.” I must practice a new way , let God and my brothers and sisters of color teach my brain and my flesh and my heart a new way. This a tiny seed. One choice. The very LEAST I can do. But there will be more. I started listening to this podcast today. You should too or find another like it. Thanks for letting me hear your voice. Thanks for your offering

Today, I am so so very tired. I find myself asking God if I will ever not be tired. Will I ever find the key? My first instinct is to try and find out what I’m doing wrong and fix it. I’m not sabbathing correctly or maybe I need a higher dose of ADHD meds or I’m meet eating enough veggies. Today I have to practice knowing it may be none or all of those but that my work today is to sit and wait. To be still and cease striving. To have faith that Gods work will be done when and how he wants it done. Will I be refreshed at the end of the day? You know, so I can proceed with my list of to do’s? I don’t know. I may still be tired. But right now I have to Be Still anyway.

Used my newest Covid hobby to make these glow in the dark puzzle piece keychains for each of the kids in our Young Disciple Ministry. Because they are an important “piece” of Gods kingdom and they reflect Jesus as the light in the darkness.

My kids started in person school again last week. It’s a 20-30 min drive to take them so last week was a huge shift in routine from the last 5 months. So there was no new video. Editing today. Hoping to edit one for this week and one for next!

Kismet! Providence! I think it was Holy Spirit. A few days before I met and enrolled in her Spiritual Conversations with Children course I was looking online for some kind of journal for older kids. I happened to see this and it was on my shortlist that I sent to our senior pastor. Turns out the “kids” version of this book was on the reading book for the class. That was it for me. We bought these for the older kids and I decided to get the original for myself and my husband. So excited!

I can not recommend this Sunday School curriculum by enough. It’s what we use at our church and I’m using to guide my thinking right now as I realize that I didn’t write any reflection questions for the video I was going to release today. New video tomorrow!
