“Inclusive, good-quality education is a foundation for dynamic and equitable societies.”
-Desmund Tutu
With great pride and enthusiasm in the air, the Camarines Norte International School Inc. successfully conducted the Arangkada Eskwela '23 last Friday, 19th of August with the theme ORSEM 2023: Unang Hakbang Tungo sa Progresibo at Inobatibong Taong Panuruan last Friday, 19th of August at the Labo Convention Center. From the Kick-Off Parade through the actual program at the Labo Convention Center, the PNP-Labo, Camaners Drum and Lyres Corps, junior and senior high school students, parents, and teaching and non-teaching staff of the school actively engaged in the aforementioned event. The one-day program was made even more colorful through various efforts made by each grade section and performance.
The program began with a doxology performed by the Performing Arts Organization members, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and Sulong Labo. Engr. Norberto M. Villafuerte, the school president, initiated the activity by welcoming everyone while simultaneously sharing the overview of the ORSEM 2023. The Labo Convention Center was then filled with laughter and claps as the MAPEH teachers took the lead in the community Zumba dance. The principal of the school, Dr. Perlita L. Villafuerte, then introduced the faculty and administrators to the parents and students, giving brief biographical information about them as well as their names, degrees, and areas of expertise. Senior Highschool Voucher Program and the school’s miscellaneous fees were comprehensively discussed by the Engr. Villafuerte. In order to respond to questions from students and their parents about the school's programming, an open forum was also established. The admins provided succinct and understandable answers to all of the shared queries. The morning session ended with the exhilarating performances from Crisanta Leonor Pizon, a faculty member, and Kieffer Pajarillo, a PAO member.
As the activity resumed, the school rules and policies were tackled interactively ensuring that both the students and parents would understand the implementing rules and regulations of the school. Mrs. Francia R. Sanchez also reiterated some salient points of parenting and guidance counseling as interrelated concepts of students’ academic performance. The schedule and nature of classes were also mentioned for the widest information of everyone. And to break the silence, a student named Yujie J. Nagera serenaded the audience with his soothing voice in the tune of Wonderful Tonight and selected members of the PAO performed an intermission number once again. Midafternoon, the Election of Homeroom Parents’ and Teacher’s Association (HRPTA) and General Parents and Teachers Association (GPTA) were spearheaded by Mr. Dhonald Jay Verana, the Student Affairs Coordinator in which Mrs. Janet Payra was elected as the GPTA President for the Academic Year 2023-2024. Not long after, an inspirational message was given by the school’s Academic Affairs Coordinator, Ms. Pamela May S. Orolfo. Finally, the Orientation Seminar 2023 was concluded through photo documentation and a community performance of the currently trending Tiktok craze, “Mini Miss U.”
Indeed, when communities come together, there is prosperity. The Camarines Norte International School, Inc. with its primary goal of providing quality education and promoting holistic development extends its sincerest gratitude to each and every one who actively participated and contributed to the success of this endeavor. The CNIS is now ready to embark on a new academic year filled with value-adding experiences and geared toward excellence.
