MEET OUR MIRROR OF THE MONTH: DOCTOR IDOWU SAYO

Doctor Idowu Sayo is an Ilora-Born Medical expert that introduced free medical surgical service during 2023 Ilora Day Programmes.
Dr. Idowu Sayo is currently working with Ogun State Hospital Board Management and also own two private hospitals in the State.

Why Do You Introduced Free Medical Surgical Services for People's with Hernia, Lipoma and Breast Lump Diseases?
My name is Dr. Idowu Sayo from Alape Compound, Ilora. I introduced medical surgery operational inorder to give back to the community and I known some of our people here in Ilora don't have the money to undergoes some surgical operations and also to honour My Late Father, Bolanle Idowu; He so much loved this town. ( Ilu Iseyin ni won bi wasi sugbon won ma ko wa wale fun Odun, won fe ma fe pakopa ninu ohun tiwon base Nilu Ilora). We decide to introduce the programme to immortalized him; Our Daddy with free medical and surgery programme.

What are the causes of those Health Issues?
"One of the operations we did was hernia; in our environment the causes is farming, stressful works and anyone that doing worked that's stressful. (Ito Fa ipake ni adugbo wa ni, Ise agbara ti awon eniyan waa see, papajulo o wo poo laarin awon agbe ati awon to sise agbara to gbe eru to wuwo).

How can our People's prevent those health issues?
(Aole so pe ki awon eniyan ma sise agbe, sugbon ti won bati se akiesi p*e awon nii awon aarun yin, kiwon losi ile-iwosan ki won Tete see atunse koto di p*e oma la emi loo). We can't tell our people's not to go and farming but when they discovered it; they should go to the nearest health center or hospital and do the needful and if they cannot afford the money for the surgery they should look for helps.

Growing up Outside Ilora What Draw You to Introduced Free Health Surgery in Ilora?
I was born and raised at Iseyin (Idinipe Ife ti baba waa nisi Ilu yii, oje ikan ti enu ole soo kosi ibi ti baba wa lewa to ba Tito asiko Ilora Day won ma wasi lee Nisa atipe igba ta kere ni Iseyin Gbogbo Igba niwon maa ko wa wale fun Odun; oje ki awon naa nife Ilu yii bii Baba yee sitikun Ife yee si tun wa, otun masi pe Ife ti baba yee nisi Ilu yii won fi ran waa, awa nasi ni Ife ilu wa kosi ibi ti eniyan lewa lori Ile aaye. O ye ki eniyan ranti ibi to tiwa kosi gbiyanju lati nipa nilu yen).
The reason, why I decided to do this free medical services in Ilora is because of the Love that my Father had toward this town. actually I was born at Iseyin. I loves this town because my father used to bring us home during New Year period as a result of that I developed love for my town and I want to give back to my community and helps my fellow people's of Ilora.

What advices do you have for Ilora indigenes in Diaspora or outside the Town?
To my other indigenes of Ilora; they should also look at want they can do to give back to the society. The era of witches and witchers want to killed us as gone because that's the fear of our peoples; No! let give back to our community even if you don't come home there is the way you can do it by sending money errands to do it on your behalf instead of coming. I want to encourages our people's of Ilora outside the Town and Country to comes home and do something it might not be in medical and surgeries aspects. It can be in form of empowerment to our people's (farmers) probably you discovered something in farm product and you supply it to encourage our people's and other maybe in given education support or sponsors so that we would be able to take our people's out of poverty and also we parents we shouldn't relent in bringing our children to known their origin. What is your vision concern this Programme?
We started this programme this year and have discussed together with my other siblings; that's means we want to immortalized our father through this Programme. We are decide to do this programme every year to immortalized our father. We would welcomes anybody that want to partners with us to achieve this vision. (Eto yii afee ko jee eto ti yoo ma loo ni odundun lati ma fi ranti Baba waa tokun nitori Ako fee ki Oruko won ko paruu nilu Ilora, ayee si was fun awon to ba si fee darapo mo waa lati kun waa lowo).

MEET OUR MIRROR OF THE MONTH: BABAJIDE DAVID AKINTOLA

Babajide David Akintola is an Ilora-Born International Professional Footballer and a Philanthropist. Which currently plays as a winger with his Turkish team known as Adana Demirspor.

Akintola, who is a product of Rehoboth FC, Oyo and FC Ebedei; started his football career with a Community Football Club at Ilora and also played as Team Member of Ilora Baptist Grammar School Football Team during its time as Student of the School.

Having born to the lineage of Baba Bamboo in Ilora, as a young Footballer then Babajide David has played in the Torneo Borllinza Under-18 with making of one assist and this tournament really unveiling him as one of Nigeria's most anticipated young talents. In November 2014, Akintola was transferred to FC Midtjylland from his former new cooperative club, FC Ebedei. He played for Midtjylland-U19 in the 2014–2015 season, where they won the league. He helped the team, scoring 9 goal.

Akintola, after aided the team to won the league was promoted to the Midtjylland Senior Team prior to the new season and before being loaned to Thisted FC. He was also played on loans with several Clubs such as Norwegian First Division-side FK Jerv, FK Haugesund, Rosenborg, Omonia Nicosia, Hatayspor FC but Akintola joined Adana Demirspor with an undisclosed fee on 27 July 2021 through transferred. Akintola has many matches appearances and goals in is career statistics.

He played with notable international Footballers such are Mario Balloteli, Nani and so on also as a sharp winger, Akintola has over 50 career goals.
However, on your question of why do we decide to celebrates and select Babajide David Akintola as our Mirror of The Month (MTM). We are not celebrating him because today it's Birthday; Jide Bamboo as fondly called by his Ilora supporters was born on 13 January 1996. But we choose Akintola as our Mirror of The Month for being a good mark of mind builder for the young one's in Ilora and our people's in Diaspora.

Akintola is a Philanthropist that helps and showed love to our people's in Ilora. He usually share food items and cash's for our people's that lived around his Father house (Baba Bamboo House) Atanda Area, Ilora anytime he visited home also Akintola is a founder and lead sponsored of Baba Bamboo Football Competition an annual Football Competition for young talents and rising stars in Oyo State.

The 2023 Ilora Day Grand Finale Programme of Event (Printed Programme) was also fully sponsored by our only Agba Baller, Akintola. Do you see why he deserve to to celebrates?

DO YOU KNOW ILORA HAS PRODUCE A SENATOR BEFORE OR HAVE YOU HEARD SAMUEL EYITAYO HOUSE BEFORE DURING SOME PUBLIC SCHOOLS INTER HOUSE SPORT IN ILORA?
Senator Samuel Eyitayo was a member of the First Republic Senate in Nigeria between 1966-1969. Before his appointment as a Senate Member, Late Senator Eyitayo has held many public offices such as, serving as a Councilor in then Oyo Southern District. He was also a Member of the Western House of Assembly from 1951-1956.
However, Senator Eyitayo who is a teacher before venturing into politics was born to the Family of Late Pa. Ogungbade Dada (Gbaga Compound) in Ilora on October 1908. He went to Baptist Day School at Isokun and Oke Saje, Old Oyo State. Eyitayo proceeded to the Baptist School, Oyo and then Baptist College, Ogbomosho which he later received a teaching certificate in 1930. Senator Eyitayo was a teacher at Baptist School from 1931-1934 before he became a school administrator at the Ilora Baptist School.
Prior to his appointment as a Senator, he was an headmaster of then Baptist Central School, Ife.

This was made known through the statement issued and shared to various platforms of Ilora citizens by the medical expert.
According to the statement, Dr. Idowu appealed to the people of Ilora that known anyone battling with Hernia, Lipoma and Breast Lump diseases and could not afford the surgical fees to take this free medical surgeries advantage which its part of 2023 ILORA DAY activities.
However, He also seek for partnership with all health workers in Ilora that interested in joining them to achieve their objective to safe the life's of people battling with such ailments in Ilora.
While, the screening for the free medical surgeries has started at Ilora General Hospital, the free surgeries will take at the same hospital on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
